Syllabus23.

You were very unlucky with your Tri. there mate at Moonee Valley r3. I thought you would snag it for sure!

Leaving out that Murphy kid from possible results in a Tri. though is [in hindsight] a big mistake, even when he's on a longshot roughy. He's turning into a top rider and ironically was on my only winning bet Haddle Mc Daddle, on whom he gave the field a riding and galloping lesson winning by 5 lengths.

syllabus23 12th August 2007 11:19 AM

Hmmm you are right Crash,he is developing into thoughtful hoop,he certainly has plenty of natural ability too.He steered Haddle Mc Daddle to a good win.

Yesterday looked a pretty straightforward day,but somehow it seldom works out to be that way.

I used to be a golfer and I could never figure out why I played like Kelvin Von Sprogg on Saturday and Koko the clown on Sunday.I think this when "you're hot you're hot and when you're not you're not" factor is the most difficult part of horseracing.Impossible to quantify.

We all keep trying. My first winner was a horse called "Royal Colleen" ridden by Merv Maynard,I was in the St Ledger at Broadmeadow with my Grandfather around 1954.Sometimes I wish the damn thing had lost, cause I've been hooked ever since.

Yep.

As the well known you know who would say: 'Pharlap one day, radish the next'!

Bit of that in all of us.

Sportz 17th August 2007 04:44 PM

Okay, feel free to start posting tips for tomorrow. Remember you can bet a maximum of $250, but not if you don't have that much left in the bank. Which is the case with Goldcoaster and myself. I've only got $170, so I'm going to be looking out for miracle.

Sportz 18th August 2007 12:26 PM

Yeah, sorry. Haven't had a look at everyone's bets yet. You CAN only have a maximum win bet of $100, Mav.

You're killing it today Sportz.

A mixture of good and bad news here. 3 great winners for this comp and I've backed them all. :D

But have a guess which 3 horses I originally chose for the Fantasy Racing comp before changing my mind and replacing them all! Doh!

crash 18th August 2007 04:32 PM

You must have got out of the right side of the bed today Sportz. $860w so well done!

I did no good on my win bets but snagged the 1 unit Tri for 144.60 which should put you 5.40 behind me I think. I don't know how everyone else went though, so I might have easily lost my top spot.

Raw Instinct 18th August 2007 04:50 PM

dirty I didn't get a chance to put my tips in this week was liking Aapche Cat and Schrewd Rhythm on he day to go with Poyim e/w turned into a pretty good day for me should have been on here but ohwell.

Sportz 18th August 2007 05:05 PM

Raw

At least with this comp, while you've certainly missed out on a couple of winners there, you don't actually get penalised for missing a week. So you can have another go next Saturday.

syllabus23 19th August 2007 04:28 PM

Sorry Sportz,,,I had to go to Qld (Kooralbyn) for a couple of days and didn't post my selections.Though it looks like it was a good tactic.

Will resume next weekend.

crash 19th August 2007 04:32 PM

Well done mate. No bets ..a clever move:-))

syllabus23 19th August 2007 04:49 PM

Probably my one and only week in that position.

Kooralbyn is so dry that it looks like a moonscape.

Though when I left at dawn this morning there was light rain falling.

Won't be a clever move if he does it next week though. ;)

There is no need to bet every week. As long as you bet the required $500 for the month, that's all that matters.

Usurper 20th August 2007 09:28 AM

I just hope I can run to the front on the home stretch, but I don't think my jockey is doing a good job.

Sportz 20th August 2007 09:51 AM

Well, I was in basically the same position as you last week, so it IS possible.
