You've been so damn unlucky in this comp so far, Leroy. Your luck has to improve soon.

A hard day at the office.

I tell you what though Sportz, your scoring system has quickly encouraged punters to stick with the very short priced favourites. There is no incentive to take risk, just stick with the real shorties and get your win bonus points added on to their price [every shorty has a huge overlay].
Hard to miss a winner or two [almost 3 of them in Brisbane today]. Points should be SP only, win or place.

Sportz 26th August 2006 05:55 PM

Yeah, I realise now that I should have used a slightly different scoring system. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time, but I have to admit that it does reward short priced runners a bit too much.

Does anyone have any complaints about me making a change to the scoring system at this stage? It won't have any effect on previous weeks' tips.

Raw Instinct 26th August 2006 08:18 PM

No worries here mate won't worry me the way I am tipping anyway.

breadman 26th August 2006 08:24 PM

Your the boss sportz. Im sure it wont worry anyone especially me. The idea is brilliant and lots of fun and thats my opinion anyway. Maybe the points are a bit wrong especially with me being in the top 4. hehehe.

Hi All

My apologies for being absent from the comp, especially to Sportz as he does a really great job putting these types of comps up for us.

Good Luck to those involved....

Great idea Sportz.
IMHO, a $3.70p placegetter should be worth 37 points and $1.50w winner should be worth 15 points. It rewards risk accordingly. A certain amount of points for winning a round added as a small bonus would be all that's needed and would scuttle any possible scoring bias. It also reflects the real world of punting [not football].

Cheers to all the winners this week [short priced FAV, HUGGERS] :-),
