What a great day! Cracked the tri. with a boxed 4 in the BDS and an easy win on Apache Cat.

Sometimes Phil Purser gets it right and I hope I wasn't the only one who took his advice to back Undue ['nicely weighted and from barrier 14 would come from behind and roll over the top of them'] at the huge odds on offer everywhere. I didn't back this race, but his comments on Haradasun and Efficient were also spot-on ['great SR but neither of them have ever beaten a good horse home']. They both met a good horse yesterday [a mare too], even though Haradasun had a good excuse .

I think the Jury will be out again about Gold Edition's credentials as a genuine 1400m horse.

Panther 25th February 2007 09:32 AM

I think the jury needs to come back soon re the ride of J Cassidy on Gold Edition--total slaughter job

Ahhh yeah, sometimes he certainly does get it right. One thing though. Going by his comments over the last few months, there are no top class horses in Australia. He doesn't think Miss Finland's much good. Same with Haradasun and Efficient. He doesn't think Pompeii Ruler is any good either, and he's been critical of El Segundo and Eremein as well. The list goes on and on. Is there a horse racing in Australia that he actually thinks is top quality???
