why was paul harvey suspended.

i also backed river mist but horses seemmed a long way apart.
must have been early interference

As per The West Australian website topsy99, Harvey has been suspended for three months for improper riding and warned that he could be banned permanently if he reoffends.

Chief steward John Zucal barred Harvey after finding him guilty yesterday of knocking jockey John Claite off balance in a Belmont Park race last Saturday week.

Announcing the suspension, Zucal said stewards had taken into account it was Harvey's fourth improper riding charge, and he had committed a serious offence which had an impact on the safety of other jockeys.

Can only see 2 rides today for the pontiff, prior to starting his enforced 3 months spell.

No doubt about you guys in the west. WA public holiday last Monday - country meeting. No holiday there today - city meeting. Obviously catering for the punter rather than the patron / punter.

Interesting point Sandgroper. Have wondered for some time why he hasn't tried the big time. Maybe bigger pond syndrome.

Paul Harvey has lodged an appeal against his three-month suspension, claiming that the penalty is excessive.

He did not apply for a stay of proceedings to continue riding.

No date has been set for the appeal hearing.
