Make no mistake....!
J. O'Shea may very well be the most successful trainer over the autumn carnival, especially now that his topliners are ready to appear! He should pay to follow and should return a very healthy profit during this carnival period. Cheers. |
ive been useing stevie on the obrien horses.
been having success with that combo. nice thread im a big j/t cobo fan. |
Yes, the S. Arnold/D. O'Brien combination is formidable but I see that Danny is utilising M.Rodd today at Seymour and it may pay to support them:
MR1 6 MR4 11 Cheers. |
It's pay-off time for followers of J. O'Shea stable runners and hopefully the inclement weather does not play too big a part in the quality of racing over the Easter weekend.
Sat 7.7.07(subject to scratchings): SR3 1 Just Mambo SR3 9 Musaytir SR5 7 Primus SR5 9 Fast 'N' Famous(D. Beadman) SR8 10 Sugarbomb(D. Cheers. |
As anticipated there have been several J. O'Shea scratchings today:
SR3 9 Musaytir SR5 9 Fast 'N' Famous CR8 1 Flashing Eagle(Newcastle) the others that are running should still perform up to expectations. Cheers. |
SR3,
What else could happen to Just Mambo? Just before the start he broke through the barrier, dislodged G. Boss who held onto the reins and was dragged on his backside for about 50m. Surprisingly, the horse was then allowed to start(remember my thoughts on this matter). He was going alright in the run until into the straight there was a bit of tightening and guess who was "flattened" by Empires Choice....yes...that's right, Just Mambo which continued to battle on and was just beaten in a photo for third by Raheeb! We may hear more from the Stewards. That's racing I suppose! Cheers. |
SR8,
10 Sugarbomb, Also broke through the barrier.....and again was allowed to start! Go figure........! Similar events happening to the same trainer on the same day! What are the odds?......you work it out! That's the way it goes I suppose! Cheers. |
post128,
there are some changes: SR1 10 Nediym's Dream scr also, J. O'Shea has two runners at Hawkesbury today: CR7 8 Mr Jaydeefortune CR8 5 Zajel we hope for a successful day to make up for the events on Saturday! Cheers. |
Any Danny O'Brien fans out there?
In SR6 today my initial form study concluded that No.1 Honor In War had a very real chance. However, I am still concerned with the 60.5kg impost although the rider, being S. Arnold gives me confidence because there will be less "dead" weight to carry. The horse can handle the track conditions so are there any unforseen reasons why he shouldn't perform very creditably? I look forward to any views from punters/form students. Cheers. |
Well, how did we go!
SR6 1 Honor In War 3rd $3.8plNSW also, : SR6 5 Safwa WON$2.4w$1.2plNSW |
Wednesday 11.4.07, J. O'Shea has the following runners(subject to scratchings):
SR2 9 Letmeentertainyou SR5 10 I Have No Fear SR7 12 Strong Choice SR8 5 At My Command SR8 11 Groundwork also, Danny O'Brien has: SR5 5 Princess Zanzibar(D.Oliver) although J. O'Shea has had mixed fortunes during the carnival so far I think we will be recouping some of our outlay. Cheers. |
I am still feeling the pain from my hip-pocket nerve after yesterday's wipeout!
However, we move on and today J. O'Shea has only one runner at Gosford: SR4 1 Tale Of The Storm we hope to improve our fortunes which for J. O'Shea have been abysmal this autumn so far. Cheers. |
SR4 1 Tale Of The Storm,
no good, surely J. O'Shea's luck must change in the near future! Well, I will be onboard to secure those succulent odds when this happens....stick with him! Cheers. |
Today may be the day:
SR1 11 Strong Choice 2nd $1.5plNSW SR4 3 Just Mambo SR8 5 Fast 'N' Famous SR9 2 Fooram Cheers. |
J. O'Shea had mixed luck last week:

After a couple of winners at M.V. yesterday Danny O'Brien has two runners at Ballarat today:

Danny O'Brien has three starters today:
MR3 7 MR4 4(S. Arnold*) MR7 8 Cheers. |
Tomorrow Saturday 28.4.07 J. O'Shea has the following runners(subject to scratchings):
SR1 7 SR4 9 SR5 8 SR8 10 SR8 11 Kembla R7 5 BR6 1 BR7 6 Cheers. NB. we're going pretty well so far today with D. O'Brien: MR3 7 Immortality 2nd $3.3plNSW MR4 4 La Chasseuse WON $1.8w$1.2plNSW |
MR7 8 scr
meaning that our ROI today is 102.5%......not bad! Tomorrow(subject to scratchings) D. O'Brien has the following runners: MR2 1 Escadaire(S. Arnold)* MR6 7 Crepe De Chine(S. Arnold)* MR8 11 Bonnelle *they are a lethal combination! Cheers. |
Despite many scratchings due to inclement weather J. O'Shea secured the following results:
BR6 1 Reigning To Win WON $2.7w$1.6plNSW what an incredible victory after this horse raced at the back of the field and then "bossy" unleashed him in the final 200m to secure a memorable win....that is what racing is all about! SR8 10 Flying Alpha WON $12.6w$4.0plNSW, defeating it's stablemate Strong Choice: SR8 11 Strong Choice 2nd $1.7plNSW NSW quinella paid: $22.60 NSW exacta paid: $51.30 so, a very "succulent" result from this "power" stable! Not so lucky with S. Arnold/D. O'Brien but there will be better days I can assure you! I hope other forumites benefited. Good Luck To You! I'm off to a nice restaurant! |
J. O'Shea returned the following:
4 starters(1x5) = 24.0 units OUT 2 wins, 1 placegetter = 51.8 units IN =115.83%ROI. Cheers and good luck! |
J. O'Shea has the following runners today:
SR4 3 SR5 6 SR5 9 SR6 1 some of these were scratched from Saturday meaning they are "Saturday class" horses running at a midweek venue so would be expected to perform creditably. D. T. O'Brien has many runners at Warrnambool today and these are listed in post256 in the "smart punting" thread. Cheers. |
Mixed day for J. o'Shea yesterday with 1 winner and 2 placegetters($3.2w$1.6plNSW; $1.2plNSW). Danny o'Brien had a fogetable day but hopefully things should improve today:
MR2 6 2nd $2.0plNSW MR8 2 MR9 2 all to be ridden by S. Arnold...we'll see how they go. Cheers. |
Well.
Although D. O'Brien failed to train a winner today a "smart" punter should have secured a healthy POT investing in the ratio of 1x5: MR2 6 2nd $2.0plNSW MR8 2 2nd $3.2plNSW MR9 2 3rd $2.4plNSW which equals = out(1x5) =18 units return = =38 units = 210.67% POT Good luck to you. |
John O'Shea is certainly having fun at the moment with a winner in the Wagga Gold Cup yesterday and a winner in Brisbane earlier today-follow him in SR6:
WaggaR7 1 $3.3w$1.8plNSW BR3 14 $7.5w$2.3plNSW and he has other runners today: SR6 10 SR7 9 KemblaR9 5 Cheers. |
J. O'Shea has the following starters:
BR6 12 Safwa BR7 8 Fast 'N' Famous BR8 1 Reigning To Win Cheers. |
BR6 12 Safwa I believe it broke down-we'll have to see what it's future is
BR7 8 Fast 'N' Famous 4th beaten by some class performers BR8 1 Reigning To Win WON $1.7w$1.2plNSW unfortunately, the general public is now aware of the class/ability of this exceptional performer.....meaning, no good prices in future races. Hasn't J. O'Shea had to deal with a multitude of problems regarding his stable of stars? I am sure he can deal with each issue as it arises and get some of these top performers back to their optimum level of potential. Good luck to him! Cheers. |
Adding a little trainer doing OK this year..... not so much a Metro contender, but.... who knows....
