Have been quietly watching your last few posts westman and thinking although you’re tipping winners, you’re not getting much up in terms of multiples. When I saw your selections for race 4 and realised you left out the favourite altogether, I thought (to be honest) that you might have lost the plot……but obviously not! Winner $20.20, Quinella $102.50, Exacta $249.80 and trifecta $728.80. Touché westman!

Thanks watsonnek. The bank didn't mind that at all! Happy to leave out Jungle Jingle, has failed a few times previously over middle distance. Included Mimicry, as although a maiden (until today) has been crying out for further ground, and ran some good races at Northam over 1600 before last spell.

Dexian is an interesting nomination for the last heat of the Belmont trials tomorrow. A winner of a number of listed races, Dexian hasn’t started since Dec 2003.

Enzedder Hero Mak who had 7 starts in WA for 4 wins (in a row) and 2 places is nominated for the 2nd last heat.

There were some nice runs at Belmont on Saturday. All had some bad luck in running (e.g. interference, slow out etc) and all ran on very well over the concluding stages – Kingston Standard (race 3), Power Patrol, Bon Royalle and Metal Dump (race 5) and Urban Chill (race 7).

Dexian as you would expect carrying a lot of condition, was well beaten in the last and fastest trial heat of the day. Beaten about 6 lengths.

Hero Mak far more forward battled on nicely in heat 12, 2nd fastest heat, pulled up well. Beaten about 2 lengths. Never fully extended.

i think its generous to say urban chill was unlucky.
i wonder what paul harvey would have done on the horse on saturday.
