warwick farm r2 no 5 Craiglea Fame , only concern is the track being slow otherwise i'm thinking the extra distance should definately suit.

Caulfield r 1 no 3 Schumpeter , being going so close to a win , today has apprentice on board claim 3kg, weight drop should help and hopefully stir him across the line 1st.

r4 no 5 Tahni Girl , good run first up and drops 3.5 kg for todays race

Mav, still not sure of your 'saver' on the favourite.

Yesterday only 1/13 got up.... and on the priciple that only 30% of favs win, it seems that a lot of your money is going down the gurgler on these savers. may be better to just "save" that money. :???:

The savers all up are still showing a profit...only just but a profit just the same....I am however thinking of ditching the fav saver and using more combinations in my trifectas..which are showing the biggest profits....but as long as i'm winning its real hard to change anything..

Warrick Farm R1 is a good eg..i get the saver 1 Jackman plus the tri and a profit of about $50...my selection is still running :smile:

I dont back horses eachway..
I'll back my saver to win back my original stake of $100 ,,eg if the saver is paying $3 i'll back for $35 to win back my $100..
The trifecta is always $30 (unless there are less than 6 runners in that case the rest goes on my selection).
The rest of the original stake of $100 goes on my Selection.
The best barrier selection is basically the next horse that runs from the closest barrier..if my selection and the favourite and the next 2 in betting are jumping from the inside barriers sometimes the Best barrier selection is jumping from barrier 5...

I've only been using this system since the start of this thread. it has been very succesful but only time will tell whether that has been because of my selections or the system itself..But it seems to limit the damage when you have a run of outs..lately i've been stuggling to find winners but i havent lost to much money during this time..Today was better though.

Only to pleased to answer your questions..i'm still learning so feedback is gratefully appreciated :smile:

I'm not sure i can write the addy for the sportsman..but if you do a search look up "THE" sportsman dot com or something like that...i use the sportsman on Wed and Saturday but find The Unitab raters are better on other days..

When do you normally post your tips?. I tried 10 Tri today (on paper only) and guess what. All gone. No winner. Used the rating in Queensland Tab and the odds from them. Nothing good. Will try again tomorrow.

Hi Matilda ,,you'll notice that today the only trifectas that paid anything were the ones i picked the winners in.
You have to be confident of your selection in the race and as well as your saver (usually prepost fav).
Mornington for example R4 i was confident in Arch Of capri but also gave a chance to Siamun. R7 i was confident with Sweetest taboo but new the danger would be The Moss factor.
I broke my own rule in race 1 in Canterbury where i thought there were about 6 chances,,I liked Ultra star because it won so easily last start but wasnt real confident in Monsoon Wedding so i shouldnt of bet,,i was letting emotion get in the way..
It would of been easy for me today to just give up early,,i think i lost the first 4 races but i stuck to the plan and jagged some nice winners..

The system is pretty easy,,,,
I usually look at a race and pick a selection...if its the fav or equal
fav i back it for $70.. if its at longer odds i then back the favourite as well
(Usually propost) to win my stake back of $100 ...eg. Fav $3.50 i'll back
it for $30 and the rest $40 on my selection.

The trifectas,,are
3 on the top line
6 on the 2nd and 3rd line

On the top line (2nd and 3RD line)
Is my selection
The favourite
The highest rater (This is usually the top Zip Sportsman ratings or the
Unitab rater) if the top rater is the fav then 2/7/7 as below.

The 2nd and 3rd line
The next 2 horses in betting and the horse running from the closest
barrier.

If my selection is the Favourite or the top rater is the fav.
then its 2/7/7

Top Line 2nd and 3rd line
My selection and the highest rater if my selection is the highest rater
then
the next in the market

2nd and 3rd line
The next 4 in betting and then the best barrier selection.

I basically wanted a system where i had a couple of backups...and thats
what the tris and the fav saver have been.
The trifectas have been surprisingly healthy.

The system seems to help you through the bad times...theres been times i've picked no winners but still have made a profit...today for example i picked only the one winner.
The system does however need you to make some decisions ,,,especially when
the you are picking your next in the market trifecta selections,,,sometimes they are fluxiating all over the place..
You could use the early markets as i did today ,, but if i can i like to be at the computer and placing bets 5mins before
jump...you then get that market mover selected in your tris.... sometimes when your fav selection blows out because the radio has got everyone excited about another runner its tempting to jump off...but i've
found you should stick to your fav selection because you should have studied its form as much as you selection anyway and be fairly confident that this fav saver is the biggest danger to your selection..

With the KS (keep safe) selection...this is usually another horse in the race that i think might be a bolter ,,,i dont usually back them for a win but i add them to my trifectas instead of the top rater... its been alittle costly at times but i have jagged a couple of huge trifectas with it.

Anyway good luck and with any new system you try ....use paper money till you get the hang of it and see for your self if its for you,,,use your own selections if you want or even try a tipster you feel confident
about....but be selective with the race you choose have a plan for the day and stick to
the rules....i've been real tempted some days to give up there was one last week where i lost the first 5 races,,,but i then jagged a $1250 tri and a few winners and had a huge day....

My winning percentage isn't that good but they way the system works it lets you go for the value runner and still have that security of the saver. I would be ahead if i had backed my selections straight out but i'm not sure i would of had the guts to back some of those selections if i didn't have the backups in place. It's real head games but i'm happy so far with the result...but time will tell :smile:

Poor showing today..If Copeton gets the nod in the photo , could of been a good day. Plenty of ifs in racing though. The trifectas are off the boil again today which is very unusual. They are usually very safe. Still hovering around the 17,000 18,000 mark now for awhile but still not time to panic. :smile:

Great day today thanks to a few nice winners and the tris (Just when i started to doubt them) came through for me with the best barrier selection adding nice value.
A few close 2nds and placings spoilt what could of been a magical day..

Day Off tomorow to much to look at on Saturday. Will check for Blackbookers though but this time of year is so exciting not enough time to study.

hope you got your doubles on..i have Zagalia in a heap as well as Tall Timbers, Delzao and Winning Belle..this horse is bred to run all day and is a smokey. I even have Another Warrior because of his huge run the other day..

Missed a tri because of the early markets but still not a bad result. If room with a view gets the bob would of been a nice result..Dualiner flew home for 4th again seems to make a habit of it should win soon and Darwina did alirght considering it did all the chasing after that tearaway leader.

Horrible day today and the early markets really didnt have a bearing on anything either. I'm still hanging around the 18,000 and starting to get tired of it. Really going to get stuck into it to try to hit the magical 20,000 by the end of the week.

Thanks Partypooper ...Action is what used to kill me I'm the type of punter who craves the action i can a hardly watch a race without having a go on something.I've been very good this year and if its a race i haven't studied fully i'll have a Max of $5 on it ,,thats my rule.
The savers i think keep me going.

Regarding details of the Zips i've never kept details on there results i must admit they do have there good days and there bad and lately i havent been happy with there results. I do find however the Unitab raters have been performing better of late. especially the country meets.

I think it was Racing Novice who was doing some research into it..but if there is anything i can help with i'll be happy to.

Keeping records ect has always been a pain thats why this thread has been so good for me.

Good day considering the disasters in mackay,,On Blu Bayou stayed in the barrier ,,Calais Bound was running so wide she was in the carpark and Rameka couldnt get out all..earlier Tuscan Illusion went down by a whisker and danish Heir was close as well. enough to do your head in.
But the big tri in tamworth was great and a few winners also capped the day off nicely.
Though Snipify would of been nice .

Some of these selections will be filtered depending on track conditions and scratchings.
