Hi Sportz,
There wil be a Crusaders backlash after the Brumbies game. They will thrash the Cheifs who are struggling with a string of injuries and a couple of players never arrived for the season's start. I stand to decimate my TAB account if I"m wrong |

Thanks sportz and moeee, its good to be back, had a rough end to last year [ a few very bad storms, a couple of 48hr blackouts, phones down for 4 days 2 deaths and to top it off we were robbed 2 weeks before xmas] so i threw my hands up in the air and had long a break until now and i'm ready for a big season of footy !
This time : opening balance $500 bet 1 multi sport odds [Union] Blues -15.5 [1.81] Crusaders -9.5 [1.47] $50 @ $2.66 = $133 closing balance $450 |
Geez, things can only get better mate. :)
|
Yeah, i sure hope so,i dont normally bet on pre season games or the 1st couple of rounds, but this year i'm going to get stuck into them from round 1 as i'm even MORE confident this year , couldnt back the swans or lions in the wizard cup after looking at the sides they put in, reallistically the should have been at least 10/1 each, i feel for anyone who put their hard yearned on them?

Good Evening All
An alert for those that are going to support the Highlanders, Kees Meuws and Anton Oliver are both out of the front row. |

Opening balance $491.
Bet 7: Reds +16.5 Bet 8: Brumbies -15.5 Bet 9: Chiefs +14.5 Bet 10: Sharks +3 Bet 11: Cats +2.5 All are for $30 and at $1.90 (to win $57) Bet 12: Highlanders +2.5 at $1.92, $30 to win $57.60 Closing balance $311. I'm not skipping the more marginal bets since my system still does quite well on them. I intend to bet ALL of my S12/AFL/NRL picks here. That's going to be around 350 or so bets, so the idea is to bet as singles and hopefully build up a balance, so that I can then bet as multis without so much risk. I notice sportz above me has included the win amount as the total returned. I only included the profit amount. Probally better to include total returned since we're deducting bet amounts from balance, so I changed mine. |
Mr J,
I assumed you'd want to bet on all of the S12 games, but I didn't think you'd want to do the same with NRL & AFL too. By the way, I think if you wanted to bet on every S12, NRL & AFL game, it would actually be closer to 450 bets. I know your method works for you, but the reason why I put a limit of 200 bets on the comp is to make tipsters be a little bit selective, and so that people who don't want to bet on all 3 codes aren't disadvantaged. |
"it would actually be closer to 450 bets."
I don't bet EVERY game ;) The bookies are usually more accurate later on in the season. I was only betting on around 75-80% of games near the end of AFL/NRL last year. I'd like to be selective, but betting all my picks is the most reliable way to get ahead. If it means I have to bet multis for a large chunk of AFL/NRL then that's what I'll have to do. I can't be selective because I can't be sure which are my best bets. My tests have shown that the picks perform similiar no matter how large their perceived advantage is. Large overlays don't really perform better because they are way off often enough to offset the accuracy of the other large overlays. |
******** Goldmember!
I get up every morning and nothings changed! I'm not sure who's better off? |
Can't hang out any longer.
I think its Bet 6 Opening Balance $380 West Coast -20.5 @2.10 Carlton $1.50 Multi $20 to collect @ $3.15 ($63) Closing Balance $360 |
Going by the incredible score at the moment in the opening Super12 game of the week, I may end up having an ABSOLUTE SHOCKER!!! Can't believe it. I thought if there was one absolute certainty this week it was the Blues at home to the Reds. :(
Looks like you may have come up trumps there Mr J. I think you're the only one that considered backing the Reds. |
Well, they eventually got out of jail, but a winning margin of three points was about TWENTY short of what I was expecting!!!
So one of my bets is down the gurgler. Well done on getting your line bet up Mr J. |

I've just had a look and that result has knocked out a lot of people's bets for this weekend.

Just curious as to why not just go straight out on the Waratahs? |
$50 - Carlton @ 1.50

Ummm, it's preferable if you give a few more details than that. Like what your balance is, what number bet it is, which bookie etc. I will work out your total anyway, but it would be nice if you let other people know as well. :)
|
sure no problem. In future I'll give more details.

Looks like you might be on the right track there with your strategy of going for big returns. You've only won 2 out of 7 bets, but you're up over $200. Personally, I had another shocker. Need to take a good look at what I'm doing. |

Proof is in the pudding so they say. Warratahs 36 Vs Sharks 13 I thought the Tahs would win by at least that many but wasn't overly confident of them winning by more than 10, seems they did it easier than I had thought. Go the Tahs!!! :D |

Just a note to everyone. Now that all 3 codes are up and running, please try to make it clear which competition and which team you're betting on. After all, there's more than one Brisbane, Sydney & Melbourne and there's more than one Bulldogs, Tigers, Sharks, Cats & Blues etc. Try to do it something like my last post if you could please.
