WELL a start HAS NOT been ruled out and trainer Lindsey Smith may start him in the in the McKinnon Stakes next Saturday, and depending how he pulls up may still start in the big one. AND just to add to the intrigue a group of WA owners have nearly finalised a deal to buy managing part-owner Janelle Harvey's share in the horse.

I love it!!! ;)

On the radio this morning reported that Lee Freedman is heading an offer for Plastered. I’m assuming this is ANOTHER offer  as not surprisingly Freedman will be training if this offer is accepted and NOT Lindsey Smith!

My understanding is that there’s been at least THREE bids!

Bart Cummings made an offer of $1.8 million to buy all shares – that bid was apparently knocked back.

Another offer $1 million+ from a WA syndicate headed by part owner Elio Galante where if successful trainer Lindsey Smith would be retained.

And the most recent offer (again $1 million+) from a syndicate (which reportedly includes owners of the ill-fated Mummify) headed by Lee Freedman which would result in Freedman taking over as trainer.

Freedman's focus with Plastered will be on the autumn and spring carnivals and international races in 2006. He could still start in Mackinnon Stakes on Sat or even the Sandown Classic Nov 12 but a start in the big one this year is highly unlikely.

It's been confirmed that the new trainer of Plastered is Lee Freedman and he is likely to run in this Saturday's Mackinnon Stakes with a possible start in the Melbourne Cup.

Plastered - Done Deal!!

Looks like a done deal if you believe the latest press release in the west!

Subject to a vet check tomorrow the Freedman syndicate have him!!

And in the process current part-owner Ellio Galante is said to have increased his ownership in Plastered from 40% to 55% making him the controlling owner!!!

Plastered - All Deals Are Off!!!

Plastered has FAILED the vet's test!!!

Reported all deals are now off with the horse is staying in the original ownership of Janelle Harvey and Ellio and Jacquie Galante.

Reasons for Plastered failing the test have not been revealed as yet.

It is believed a subsequent heavily reduced offer was made made by the Freedman syndicate but was rejected by the Janelle Harvey.

Plastered will now return to WA stables of Lindsey Smith and his future will be mapped out after his condition is re assessed.

I guess the smile that might have been on the faces of Free At Last connections :) may now look more like this :-I (wry smile) ;)
...and will no doubt look more like this :( if Plastered's problems are manageable and Lindsey and owners decide to tackle some of the big races over the Ascot summer carnival.
