At this stage, Plastered will not be returning to the Smith stable and although the deal looks as if it is off, the horse will remain in the Freedman stable and will possibly go around in the Mackinnon Stakes on Saturday.

Perhaps I'd better put a 2nd plot-holder on layby :D :D

Been reported on Melbourne radio that irrespective of what happens re the sale of Plastered, the horse will remain under the care of trainer Lee Freedman and not be returning to Lindsey Smith.

Obviously the situation is a fluid one as it has now been reported that the horse is now to be returned to the Lindsey Smith stable.

STORM ATTACK consistent of late likes the track and excels in the wet.

NOBLE RED big chance if track bias in favour of swooping.

As for MODEM hope he does ok for you guys his wet track form looks very poor but as per my comment Noble Red a track bias in fav of swoopers will suit.

1st / 3rd with the top 2 unfortunately Modem not surprisingly (slow track) unplaced.

Pinjarra Wed

New season commences at Pinjarra tomorrow, very pleasant country track. In race 6 (Town Of Pinjarra-Grandstand Cup) have a liking for (8) Rose Of Somerset. Won particularly well C4 at Northam last start, should strip even fitter for this race and has enough pace to offset the wide barrier.

THE WESTERN DYNAMO reluctant to jump, losing many lengths. Trainer was advised that the gelding would have to jump out to the satisfaction of the Stewards before racing again.

Great effort by the Adam Durrant-trained My Thornbird to win the Northam Cup last Sunday! And great price too :) As it turned out the race was made to order for the gelding with Hooley Dooley setting a cracking pace early (at one stage was leading by as much as 12 lengths!) Sikmrex joined in approaching the turn ensuring the continued fast tempo and then the swoopers arrived with My Thornbird outstaying them all for a gutsy win. It was revealed after the race that My Thornbird was almost retired back in September after a series of disappointing performances. The trainer gave him ‘one more chance’ and fortunately My Thornbird showed enough zest for Durrant to persevere with his campaign.

Plastered

Now revealed that Plastered has a breathing problem as well as the foot issue (a previously known issue that’s required ongoing maintenance).

In retrospect his run in the Caulfield Cup may have been much, much better than it looked on paper.

On the subject of Lark Hill trials Monday former top 2YO Royal Fire did a solid job to beat a good field winning the 2nd last heat of the day. His best win as a 2YO was the listed Supremacy stakes beating Shout From Maroof who ran 2nd behind Diffraction in the Karrakatta Plate and raced with great success as Natural Blitz overseas winning 8 of 9 starts in Macau - the first 8 in succession! and also ran 3rd behind Silent Witness in the 2004 group1 Hong Kong sprint.

Royal Fire raced with moderate success over east in 2004 and returned to Perth early this year. Didn’t really fire (excuse the pun :) ) but has since been spelled and gelded (ouch!)

The runner-up to Royal Fire's in the trial is no slouch either - Great Nation, a winner of 8 from 11 who at his last start back in July won the listed Beaufine stakes beating Arctic Park.
