Don't know about your theory. I always thought that the Snippets LOVE the wet!!!

Then again, I think the track was upgraded to Slow after the first or second race, so it obviously wasn't a real bog.

I remember Snipittson's failure and a few so called experts backed the whole cant run on the heavy theory up,,,,but when you do look at Snippets winners they mainly liked to race on top of the ground.
Sounded like Snipify had it easy up front and dictated the race anyway.. and as you say the track wasnt a bog,,,wish i was sitting in front of the computer at the time and i might of backed it but it was still slow so i'd doubt it.
Live and Learn i suppose

Party Time.

Great day today thanks to the Early markets yet again..it seems the more i stay away from the computer the better in the Arvos.
Must remember to put the editor of the courier mail form guide on my christmas list.

Its very hard though sitting in front of the computer and watching your early fav saver paying more than $10 but Trimiss and Plywood were great results and fraars Salome payed incredible. I love it when the the radio gets everyone excited about another runner  I did miss a couple of tris but they didn,t pay much anyway. I'm going to keep using the early markets except on saturdays. but will monitor the results on that day as well i have before and it hasnt been as good.

Good Luck to All

Just realised i only picked a couple of winners today..lucky to walk out with my shirt still on.

Early Markets. Unitab raters.
Going for some value today. Not a real easy day especialy at Ipswich but i think theres value around just have to find it

I make it 1100 minus 935 tallies as a loss of 165 to give a bank of 16,591.
But your still killing 'em just the same.

One question. Is this like pretend investing or are you actually placing these bets?
Not that a 50 cent extra unit on a trifecta would make a huge difference in the declared dividend, but curious nevertheless.

Could you please explain a little further what is meant by "the horse running from the closest barrier."
Thank you.

maverick1993 9th September 2004 09:22 PM

Thanks Moeee.

Bank 20,010

All started with a good Brissie carnival. Danestorm and Super Elegant were real good to me and i jagged a couple of tris using a trifecta system similar to this.

All actual bets but there has been times i havent got my trifecta on...sometimes Ias can be alittle slow and close trifecta betting at some weird times its happened a few times on the Saturday when the site is extra busy,,been good lately because i've been putting them on in the morning...
The figures are all Rounded Off,,just makes it easier ...like sometimes with late scratchings in the trifectas i get a refund for that selection ..its all just pennies i dont worry about.
I also use Ias bet for my little eachways and sometimes my big bets if the price is right. I use Unitab for my 1st fours and doubles and trebles.
and now a flutter with sports betting..i also have a couple of other systems i use but they only pick a selection here and there not enough action for me..
Figures and percentages havent been a priority for me even though i'm told by a heap of people they should be. as long as my bottomline is good i'm happy and thats all i worry about.

If i start to lose i'll examine the figures and see whats up,,but until then i'll keep on fluking winners

maverick1993 9th September 2004 09:27 PM

I'd be niave to think there were enough people following my tips to actually think it would make a difference.
But thanks for the compliment
I beleive in fixed price betting and any real serious bet is with a bookie (Con's my Fav) i've been burnt to many times on Ias and Unitab with weird flux's. I do prefer the track to anything though.

maverick1993 9th September 2004 09:31 PM

The last spot in the trifectas is used for the Horse jumping from the next inside barrier regardless of price .. Seems simple but it has proved to be very lucky.

moeee 9th September 2004 09:36 PM

Yo Maverick.
Didn't get an answer to my query regarding the closest barrier business.
Up to you to spill the beans of course. No hard feelings.
One of my posts gseems to have got lost in the post.
Suggested and now will suggest very strongly, that after you are finished dividing up the $100,you not actually set the favourite for the bet you assigned unless it is also your top selection.

maverick1993 9th September 2004 09:42 PM

To hard when betting on the early markets to work out what the Fav is going to pay..
So its easier to go 30 for the fav and 40 for my selection...sometimes i miss out and pull up short but there's been times when i've had 30 on the early fav and its paid surprisingly healthy..All bets in the last few days have been by using the Courier Mail markets in the form guide. lazy i know but they have been working .

Oh do you mean Don't have a saver ? Mr Ed has advised i shouldnt either But it does show a profit but i know it also takes away from my profit when my selection wins.
But i dont think i would have the balls to go for some of my selections (today counter agent ran at 40/1) if i didnt have the saver backing me up.

sportznut 9th September 2004 10:01 PM

Yeah, I've always felt much more confident backing two horses in a race instead of just one. And in some cases if I had to back just one horse I'd probably go for the shorter priced one anyway. A good example was race 8 at Ipswich today. If I was forced to pick one of my two horses I would probably have gone for the fav and lost.

moeee 9th September 2004 10:09 PM

Here is some homework I have assigned for you to do.
Me being a loser and you being a winner and all.
Suggest if it is possible,go back to the start of this forum and write down the starting price of all YOUR first selections and how many selections there were.
And slap the prices up here on this forum.

Oh and Another of my posts that got lost, wanted to know how you picked a horse called Joy's Topic or something similar. It was the day Tellem won paying $11.
I think Joys Topic paid $18.is that right?

maverick1993 9th September 2004 10:26 PM

I think you mean Just Polite,,this is a good horse he raced the week earlier and ran home strong at ipswich ,,One of my fav Trainers in Saun Dwyer and was also in a race where there was going to be speed to suit and if i remember right was at eagle Farm which i think suits the backmarkers. This horse is also a good show on Saturday in one of the group races. Plenty to like about it.

As for the home work i never did it at school and i'm not about to start now. But you are more than welcome to do it its easy enough to work out. I'd love to see the results

maverick1993 9th September 2004 10:39 PM

I have been lucky enough to jag some good winners..Just Polite, Sennett, Business Barbie and Strategic Plan, Taylas Gold all for different reasons..some just for for breeding reasons and the trainer..

Moee if you want a more detailed explanation on anything i can help you with you can email me on mav1993@hotmail.com
and then we wont be hogging the forum .

moeee 10th September 2004 11:16 AM

Like to see your tips before the races have been run,Maverick1993.

A real frustrating day today with alot of placings.also missed on a couple of real nice trifectas using the early markets. Hard day at the office today and alittle chuffed i'm back under the 20,000 mark...
looking forward to tomorrow though

20 bets today alot for a Friday but i'm going for some value today. Fingers Crossed but i'm due to jag a couple of niced priced winners

I like Snippety Day in Canberra Race 4 No2 but i'm sticking with my therory that the Snippets dont like the wet. so it will most likely win ..also i've jumped of Parkes in Mornington after backing it the last 4 starts for placings..it always seems to find something to beat it so i'm hoping Splendid fellow is the one..

Good Luck to all

Using early Markets (Courier Mail) and Using Unitab for the ratings .

Maverick1993.
I have been going through your selections, bit by bit.
Am only early so far,but only 8 winners from 60 selections.
And the Bank is more or less what you started with.
Obviously something incredible happened since then.Do you know how many selections you have made up till recently and how many have won.
Surely your win percentage is better than 13%.

Short lived excitement on Limited Impulse but Hudson Jack was good. would've been nice if Winsome Dancer won i had a stack on that horse."
Great to See the Storm win and seeing my Multi was gone thanks to the Panthers it was great to see the Cowboys win.
Also my first bet on the Jockeys today and had a nice win on Beasley but lost on Ryan.
Haven't looked at it much but there does seem to be value there.

Heaps of Action tomorrow will be using Zip raters where i can and Unitab raters for the others and Ias prices for the tris. Not yet confident enough to use early marets on the saturday but will compare the results.

Good Luck To all

Ps Mooee yep sometimes i dont pick a winner at all...in my quest for value i sacrifice the consistency..strikerates mean nothing to me..just my bottom line

How come you don't have Bloodsport for first in your trifecta?
Was Bloodsport actually number 3?

What does it mean,"if Fav will be Safety"?

Br2 5 "Elle Lione"
Am I mistaken, but did this horse start at 100 to 1?

maverick1993 11th September 2004 10:52 AM

Can't remember what it was paying..could of been 100/1..especially if it was a first starter or a maiden race...by memory i think i backed a 200/1 shot once and it came 2nd..,,what's your point ?

"If fav will be my saver" means if llanga shortened to become favourite i'd use it as a saver and have the other as my selection.
In hindsight with llanga winning it wasnt a good move but hey i still profited who cares.

Mooee i have given you my email and am happy to answer all your questions. How bout you save them all up for me.
I'm guessing people will be getting sick of seeing my thread on top all the time especially with all these top races going on.

moeee 11th September 2004 04:09 PM

Maverick1993.
There ain't no point about the 100-1 shot.
Just thought there may have been a mistake somewhere.

And relax about your popularity.I have noticed you even have fans from the USA following you.
If you don't wish to answer my questions on the forum, just say this:

"Mo,I dont wish to answer your questions on the forum."

maverick1993 11th September 2004 04:29 PM

Moee
as i've said i'm more than happy to answer your questions..you just seem to have many..thought it would be easier to answer them all at once.

Hope you backed Just Polite..it seems horses i back and then jump off always win. Abu Simbel and Uncle Shamos are another 2 that have won so far today  ..No doubt Delao will win this next one ..

mug punta 11th September 2004 04:42 PM

OUCH!! Bad luck Mav. Delazao lobbed me the quaddie

maverick1993 11th September 2004 05:32 PM

 one of those days MugPunta ..
Hudson Jack and Limited Impulse are another 2 ,,but the good news is i was on these

Hudson Jack was sold for $400 at a sale i was at..I liked him but was advised against him because he was a bleeder. What a bargain he has proven to be. Since then i have backed him every start with a bunch of mates ..pays for the beer tonight while we watch the footy

Officially the worst day ever..Not even the early markets could be blamed for the result. Shocking all round. I do however blame all the beer i drank last night and the fact i never gave the races the time and study they deserved.
What makes it worse is Spectacular View is another of those horses i've backed , jumped off and its won..
The air of invincilibity i've had since the bank has climbed so much is now gone...I've been backing Sports, Jockeys , Harness and the dogs lately..time to knuckle down and go back to what i was doing originaly.
Good old hard work and study ...
Day off tomorrow But i will check for Black Bookers.
I hope you all did better than i ...

Matilda 13th September 2004 08:58 PM

How do you get those 2 outsider?? Race 1 and Race 4??? They never have a go before!!!

maverick1993 13th September 2004 09:02 PM

Hi Matilda...
Must confess i didnt pick the outsider in the 1st race the system did and the early courier mail market.
As for the 4th race Lili Chanel was picked purely on breeding and the fact there was nothing really that good in the race.
Jeune is an outstanding stallion and his figures now that he is getting better mares will be incredible..also the mare was fairly handy as well.
Just lucky i guess

Matilda 14th September 2004 11:34 AM

Where did you get the system pick or the early market courier mail?. Need to learn more on such a benefit system from you.

Disapointing day today after the highs of yesterday..Not sure why i'm getting such inconsistant results. early markets probably cost me a couple of tris but nothing major.

Well if the pattern continues i'll hopefully jag a few nice winners tomorrow.

I'm glad i stayed away from the bottom maybes...they all lost..hard day today ..

Early markets and Unitab raters.

Remember if its "Odds On it's not on"
I also like Rameka and Spritely ned and Our voltage but will be to short. I also think Hexabeel will be real short as well so if it is its not worth the risk at only his 2nd start.

Hi matilda

In the first race at Murtoa
My selection was 6 Solar Secret and was short enough to be fav
The untitab rater was 8 Zedeuce
so these 2 go on top 6-8
on the second and third line
are the next 4 in betting and then the best barrier selection.
In this case 9, 2 , 7 , 1
5 was the best barrier selection.
Now in the case of Numbers 1,3,10 they were all on the same odds 11/1.
To seperate these you go the by weight and if they are still the same then you go on best Barrier.
The courier mail is a daily newspaper here in Qld. But i'm sure you get the same odds on http://www.tabform.thewest.com.au

I've been using the early markets lately because i havent had the time to be at the computer in the Arvos..its proven to be very succesful at jagging the big trifectas but i do miss on a few that i would usually get on the latest market.
