Sportznut - unfortunately avoid such races, multiple tips rarely come in. |

For those wondering why I persist, the last month or so has been shocking for some reason, but the last three years has been great, so I'm prepared to stick with it. For example: System 1 Selections 1,256 Winners 377 S/R 30.02% Profit $68.70 POT 5.47% System 2 Selections 422 Winners 93 S/R 22.04% Profit $66.80 POT 15.83% This includes all the bad results up to the end of November. So we are due for a change of recent luck |

That's what I was thinking. Perhaps if you had not included such races in this thread, you would be ahead??? Then again, I suppose as soon as you start leaving those ones out, they will start winning. |
Hi sportznut,
Yeah, what I meant to say was, where one system picks two horses in a race, then leave the race altogether, but where seperate systems pick different horses (like today), then have a go. Overall I think it evens out. Having said that...you know what's gonna happen today just to leave egg on my face. Talk about a forum hoodoo, two other systems I was doing well on took a dive as soon as I started posting them, before in real time I was well ahead with a lot of past history too. Since posting I've had to drop them altogether. Ho hum. |

Yeah, I know what you mean! |

Lucky last at Perth CP! |
Yep, was looking rather bleak before the last winner, but Bondy was beaten a head and Danny Blue copped a check two or three times in the last 400m.
Still, made a $140.00 loss on the day to my grief. |

Not all lost Chrome Prince, just a minor setback. |

Hi Chrome, hope it's a big finish to the year for your selections. :)
|
Even though you haven't done quite as well as you were hoping, I admire your guts in putting your selections on here and showing your results and balance for all to see. Anyway, well done. I think I might do something similar in the new year with my system selections. :)

Cheers Sportznut, thanks for the support.
Have a great New Year. |

Sandown Race 8 # 3 Dane's Jester *Will continue to plod on, but will stop at 20% loss if it happens and reassess. |
Trying to nail "the winner" can be a thankless task.I keep statistics on tipsters polls (pretty well just for interest). Ian Craig who is head and shoulders above the rest could manage a big fat "zero" with his first pick yesterday, the 26th.Yet five out of eight of his second choices were winners.
That was more or less the scenario for the four major venues yesterday,(sorry you sand gropers). When you select four horses per race it's not too difficult to become an "expert" tipster. Those experts would be on the breadline pretty quickly if they were paid on the result of their first selection. Out of interest,Craig hits the jackpot (with his four tips) 77% of the time. The worst of them (who will remain anonymous) manages 45%.For me those results seem to underline the disadvantages of punting with single bets.Lolol and following media tipsters. I enjoy reading all of the different ideas and new systems here on the forum and really admire someone who has the ticker to post single selections.Good luck,, good punting.. |

Are you talking about just the 2KY/Sky tipsters? If so, I'll take a stab that it's that Adelaide guy??? Purely speaking profit/loss wise, I think Radiotab's Shane Templeton, Brendan Cormick and Chubby Holloway aren't too bad. |
Yup the 2KY tipsters.
Curiously two of the worst performers are South Australian tipsters.I'm not sure if that's their lack of competance or some kind of indicator to stay away from CrowEater Country. |
Love the thread, but I've just got one question. How many systems are you using at the same time? I remember reading earlier that you were using a few and I'm just wondering if you are still persisting with them all or have you thrown in the towel with any of them.
Cheers. |

Hi! I like your honest approach to posting. You post your selections and results regardless of outcome, unlike some who boast about some big winners after the event but we never see the selections and strikerate before the races run. Cheers and good luck in 2005! |

Hi TenFour, Originally there were four systems but I've cut it down to two as the long run of outs before a winner was killing it. Unfortunately I cannot specify price cutoffs before a bet, but if I did, it would be a lot more profitable , but a lot less bets - as small as maybe 1 a week sometimes. So there we have it, the Titanium Tips are Lead Tips or Titanic Tips without price filters. I'm looking at a new strategy for the New Year that will give a lot more action and profit hopefully. |

Thanks Iomaca, May shift to ratings in the New Year on selected races only, but will always post the profit and/or loss on my selections, as without it I cannot keep track of my own endeavours, and newcomers to the forum might be misled by what looks like a good thing. |
Ladies and gentlemen, Titanium Tips are back for 2005!!!!
I will continue the profit and loss reporting from the debt where we last left off, last year. I have found a way to trim the selections using prepost prices as a guide, so we'll battle on to see if we can make a profit out of a loss. I have abandoned incorporating ratings in my tips for now.
