moeee,
Now you have got me confused. I wasn't aware that you had put all your eggs in the basket on the LIONS at 40+ and -24.5. What was so good about Brisbane's form this year? Enlighten me.
They beat St Kilda only after Nick got injured, and that form hasn't stood up with the way the Saints have gone since.
They lost to Port Adelaide who aren't exactly flying themselves and then they stopped horribly in the last quarter against the Swans.
So give me some reasons why the Lions deserved your hard earned money at such a ridiculously short quote.

But you must my dear Betsy!
It's called backing the runners you believe are over the odds.
Nothing wrong with the betting method, but obviously the selection method fell apart this week!

First may I say it is a bit cheeky of you bagging my selections after the race.
But to answer your question,it was more to the effect of Hawthorn being so ordinary.Who was it that they beat so far this year?
No-one.

Did you have a good win? I haven't had a chance to go through everybody's bets yet.

Rock Steady 16th April 2005 06:40 PM

moeee,
Didn't bag you mate - just interested in reasons. I'd seen the Hawks in all their matches and they are not that bad a side - I can only go on what I "see" not read or "hear". I always watch the replays without the commentary - don't want to be influenced by those guys on the TV.
I put up my Hawks plays on this forum yesterday and gave the computed percentage as well.
Lions were still favoured to win by my method BUT this game is all about value. That percentage indicated they were massive overs. For a little $30 Index bet it sure was a nice surprise to see what unfolded.

I've now got the other two games going for nil risk to my capital and the chance of a $5K+ weekend.

Sportz 16th April 2005 06:50 PM

I always watch the games without the commentary too, but that's just because 90% of TV commentators are so damn annoying!
