Stix Tips - Mone(e)y Valley 17 August 2005

Hi All

Track Dead, Trail True and magnificent day in ol' Melbourne Town

Race 1
  • (4) Classic Benbara - Finally one "maiden speed bump" fest and should go on with it
  • (3) Observing - Finished well last start, showing a liking for the "speed bumps" and should be good E/W value
  • (1) Conzeal - Not far away last start and although is the Toppy, drops 2.5kgs
  • (5)* Meadow - Showing promise and not far awy against (4) last start and drops 3kg and has Durden
Race 2
  • (2) Full Spec - Is fitter now and ready to produce, doesn't win to many out of turn, but extra distance and track conditions suit
  • (1) Toy Machine - Won last two well and in heavy conditions, unsure about dead going, but is going pretty well at the minute
  • (4) Blue Ribbons - Has a lot of ability and is fitter for the three runs back and M Price has a knack of getting right
  • (8) Red Fire - Backed to win last star and did, usually thereabouts and holds form
Race 3
  • (5)* Electric General - Slowly away at debut but finished of beautifully, resuming and will be running home hard
  • (4) Long Walk - Very fast filly, yet to unplaced has Shinn and will be in it up to the eyeballs
  • (1) Jenning - Slow away and still sprinted nicely to score at debut, smart and could/should repeat the dose
  • (2) Owzat - Good fresh record and is being kept that way
Race 4
  • (10)* Prince of Scribes - Has won only 2 starts at this distance has Ryan and has nice weight- hope to get e/w
  • (5) Nicholas - A horse I can never have for some reason (maybe because he pops up when I don;t want him to!), still last start was a good run and extra distance in his favour - maybe today I'll back him
  • (4) Princess Of Oz - Gutsy win last start, can run out the 3k's and will be hard to run down
  • (8) Paberosa - Doesn't win too many but will run out the distance, tracj suits - at odds
Race 5
  • (1) Hillfa - has the class and ability to account for these lot, but not flash odds
  • (2) Ravishing Choice* - pulled hard last start and still was in the finish, has callow and will handle her better - may be better betting than (1)
  • (9) Royal Whizz - Another superbly bred nag, another to watch
Race 6
  • (1) Twisted Times - Races well fresh, dead track no worries and likes the track and distance - Barrier and 61kgs is a worry, but is very smart
  • (4) Arondan - Last preparation was very promising has trialled well and will enjoy being steered by Ryan
  • (9) Sugar Foot Stomp - Good run last start, harder here but has conditions that suit
  • (10) Golfyn - 10th last start, bt only beaten 4leng, beaten only once over the 1000m from 4 attempts and will be fitter
Race 7
  • (4)* Srategee Gee - Won for us last time and no reason not to do it again
  • (1) Con's Amy - has excellent record at MV, will be fitter and conditions suit
  • (3) Echuca Beauty - Very consistent mare, fresh record not hot, but likes track and distance
  • (8) A Feathered Tale - SA Visitor who's form is patchy, but will be a good one for the exotics
Race 8
  • (9)* Glorious Dane - Won well last start and is always learning and will continue to improve
  • (1) My Fraarlein - Goes well at the Valley, track and distance start, should go well for new trainer
  • (3) Beccaly - Very consistent mare, no weight and has Ryan
  • (2) Akiva - Extra distance should suit, and is race fit now
(*= Confidence...... others just for fun)

Caulfied - Saturday 20 August 2005

Hi All

Are we getting itchy palms or what..... the superstars are starting to step out. Everywhere I look I see 3-4 chances to win every race.....which means pick right and you get value.... (me hopes!).... may back a couple in each race (saver) which I don't normally do....

Few showers predicted tommorow. Track is slow, but I think it will improve today as we had no real rain this week to speak of...anyway....

Race 1 (1400m)
  • (3) Tick By* - Was impressive in first campaign, Freedman has her fit, evidenced by trial form and could be one to follow trough her career, also has claim an the 2 barrier
  • (9) Apolina - Ran home well last start, likes the wet and has good record ant distance, should jump from the 1 okay and take a nice position
  • (6) Diamond Hailey - is difficult to pin down, won last start and won recent trial, likes it wet and has CHILDS
  • (2) Radiant Star - Is race fit and won well in heavy last start, so wet track no worries, has the claim, but is wide and suspect would like it a touch longer
Race 2 (1200m)
  • (7) Edgy Affair* - Forget last start when declared no runner, extremely consistent - Eway all day
  • (2) Uprise - NZer, with Freedman and was very impressive last time in, has trialled well and won 2 of 3 first up has Ryan and drawn to sit just off them
  • (4) Riceman - Has brillant record @ distance and back to form last start, has Shinn and loves to run on, so the 10 no probs
  • (1) Show Barry - Underated horse my me and many others, likes distance, but doesnt want it too wet, yet to win first up, but has ran second twice, has 3kg claim
Race 3 (1200m)
  • (1) Doubting - Very classy filly who wasn't far away in blue Diamond when had little luck (saddle slipped and checked)
  • (2) Pinezero - Won brilliantly last start and handles the slow nice position from the pole (1) and is still learning
  • (7) Brockmans Lass - Just beaten by the (2) last start in April, only has the 55 which will help again not sure about the track
  • (6) Cayambe - Very good form last time in, track is only concern, but is by Danehill
Race 4 (1200m)
  • (5) Automation* - Game effort last start in front, conditions will suit him and should be juicy odds
  • (4) Red Dazzler - Finished strongly and was impressive has Nickolic and the extra 200m a bonus
  • (3) Maybe Better - Ran home brilliantly last start, extra distance will suit and should get rice run
  • (1) Seidnazar - Was injured during race last sart in good field, is very smart when right, but can be costly
Race 5 (1600m)
  • (7) Tuareg - Just beaten last start, won this race last year has 54 and will be in it a long way
  • (10) The Bighearted - Ran on well last start and only has the 53 consistent and has Ryan (who is hot after yesterday!)
  • (3) Emerald Jack 0 Building impressive record, handles all conditions, over pet distance, the 15 is a concern, but if pace is on should run'em down
  • (4) Medieval Legend - Fitter now, although has been disappointing this time in, give another chance at good e/w odds
Race 6 (1600m J J Liston)
  • (1) Regal Roller* - ************ Good horse
  • (3) Super Elgant - Good horse
  • (8) Perlin - Doomben Cup Winner, who races well fresh and track and weight no worries Won 5 of 6 last time in and will be better value than (1) and (3)
  • (13) Salsa - Drops in weight, has the pole and although up in class will be running home strongly
  • (14) Hollow Bullet - Maybe too wet, but would be third pick if no rain)
Race 7 (1200m)
  • (3) Emlozza - Won well lsat start, loves it wet, distance and has won at only attempt here has the barrier as well (tick, tick, tick etc)
  • (7) Storm Alert* - Very smart mare and handles everything, barrier only query
  • (12) Maggie Bee - excellent form, has nice barrier and pet distance and loves it soft, has Ryan to offset class rise
  • (8) Pretty Penny - Nice last start here and maybe might get the trip this time in
Race (8)
  • (1) Evil Master - Won for us last start when had heaps of trouble, has 3 claim and should be there again
  • (2) Delvecchio - Consistent gutsy horse, keeps at it and distance and conditions are to his liking
  • (12) Bolters Show - Much harder here, but is pet distance and conditions suit and has 53
  • (4) Krayzelburg - Will relish the track and weight drop
(* = Confidence...... others just for fun)

Race 1 #3 - Tick By *
Race 6 #1 Regal Roller *
Race 7 #3 Emlozza
Race 8 #1 Evil Master

Race 7 (1200m)
(3) Emlozza - Won well lsat start, loves it wet, distance and has won at only attempt here has the barrier as well (tick, tick, tick etc)

He certaianly did stix, had the biggest bet ive ever had on him, but I think he will find this tougher and I dont really think the 1200 is his bread and butter, much prefer him over the 1000. In saying that, Ive had some big wins on him and will chuck a coupla tonn on him just in case!! Might just add as you have pointed out stix he will absolutely thrive on a heavy track.
Good luck, hopefully theres a few winners for ya there Stix....
