Artful Dodger was 2nd ($2.60) behind the 2nd fav and the quinella paid a handy $32.70. Larilla Lace was unplaced but 8-5 did actually win the race.

Kenny Karalta was favourite but only finished 3rd of 5 and of course no third dividend. Plough Rulze finished 3rd ($1.90). Ric Flair was unplaced in R4. Unfortunately, Seymour was narrowly beaten in a photo and paid $3.20 for the place. It was paying $17.40 for the win. That would have been nice. Magic Jaccka did exactly as it did on Wednesday night. It set a ridiculous pace and got out to a huge lead but it stopped as if shot. The favourite won that race.

a4brianp 23rd January 2005 05:41 PM

Thanks for that sportz . Didnt see or hear any of them yesterday or friday did see a couple today that guy who drove magic jacka must think it is Shakermaker doesnt give it a chance actualy thught that Seymour had won but not to be would have been a good result.

Good win. I noticed the odds at jump time were $1.90/$1.70 and I actually decided to back it for a place. Well, it ended up paying $2.20/$1.90. Terrific odds for the place I reckon!!! :)

Sportz 27th January 2005 03:54 PM

Not a bad result with Red Impala in R5 too Brian. $3.40 the place. I took a place all-up with it and Regal Dash. :)

Interesting that the fav won paying $1.40/$1.40. Again, great odds for the place.

Sportz 28th January 2005 01:53 PM

I was too late and missed it.

Brian, here's something you might want to think about. If you're confident that your horse can run a place at fair odds, you could perhaps think about an 'any2' bet with your horse as banker from the field. Then if your horse does run a place and a roughie comes home in the placings, it can be quite nice. It would have cost just $4.50 (50c unit) to do that in R1 and you would have got back $115.70. Of course, there are plenty of races where favs run 1-2-3 too, but if you're confident of your horse running a place, it's certainly an idea worth looking at.

a4brianp 28th January 2005 03:40 PM

True sportz was very confident on that horse in the first actually thought it would have won, also expect the one in the 7th to run a cheeky race if you can go on trial form and thats all i follow.
Remind everyone that the horse we have been on since i started posting these tips is in at Harold Park tonight i refer to Zaneden.

cheers

Raw Instinct 28th January 2005 08:15 PM

I don't mind the look of Imperial Stride in the Chariots of Fire and thought it looked like a good E/W bet. In the WA Pacing Cup I didn't mind Tricky Vic E/W looks good odds after a nice run first up and should get a good run through from the 2nd row on the back of Buck the Odds.

luv2bet 28th January 2005 09:40 PM

hey brian, I noticed tommy devito got up at $23, I havnt got time at the moment to search threw thred, but wasnt that one of yours recently?

Anyhow bo jasper just got up, see how we go in the last.

Cheers.

Sportz 28th January 2005 10:26 PM

Brian,

This is nothing to do with Harness racing, but you've made a mistake with your January tipping comp post. Could you possibly make a change please?

Chuck 28th January 2005 11:00 PM

...

it just gets harder and harder to grab someones attention round here aye sportz! (Except you of course, who i am guessing will reply within the minute!! :D )

Sportz 28th January 2005 11:05 PM

Yep. :D

But I'm off now to watch TV. We don't get the Tennis live up here, so I'm going to go and watch the end of Hewitt's match stress free because I already know the result. :)

a4brianp 29th January 2005 07:59 AM

a4brianp 29th January 2005 09:07 PM

Duets just won a big race at Ballarat didnt tip it or back it because of my silly idea that form from trials doesnt hold up in city and Ballarat tonight is like a city meetin absolutely spewing. Tipped on here last start.
