whiterhino 11th November 2005 01:58 PM

grey sapphire 11th November 2005 02:00 PM

Kentucky Legend and Answer Me Blue are the only class 5s

grey sapphire 11th November 2005 02:11 PM

Answer Me Blue

Answer Me Blue ran 2nd Belmont a few starts back but track was heavy?

grey sapphire 11th November 2005 02:12 PM

and Kentucky Legend been paced at Belmont as well although going back a bit!

Collie Cup

OK I'm going for (5) Benega EW mainly because he's performed very well first-up previously and his general form's not all that bad.

whiterhino 11th November 2005 02:25 PM

Yeh, good a chance as any I suppose..

Collie Cup

Well in the end I've decided on Spend Up EW. Blinkers go and often the nags improve sharply when this happens!

Plastered centre of new mystery $1.15m bid

Heard he failed the vet check again! A leading Perth vet has confirmed what I guess we already know. The deal could fall through or perhaps Plastered could still be sold, but at a reduced price.

Thought it was still a done deal?

Modem 11th November 2005 03:21 PM

Apparently not?!

proxy 11th November 2005 03:24 PM

.....think I'll tune back in to the Plastered saga in a couple of weeks when hopefully things have finally settled down (if that's possible!)

westman 11th November 2005 04:20 PM

I think most of us would like to do just that! Shame the media (at least in WA) is just lapping it up!

ZED POWER

If you fancy MISS ANDRETTI at the skinny odds currently on offer for the RS CRAWFORD STAKES you would have to a bit of a saver on ZED POWER.

Fresh from a spell tomorrow ZED POWER finished 2nd behind MISS ANDRETTI last time first up. ZED POWER carried 55kg that day and was beaten 1.25lens by the Fighting Tigress who carried 52.5kg. Tomorrow MISS ANDRETTI climbs to 56kg and ZED POWER drops to 53kg - a massive weight turnaround of 5.5kgs. ZED POWER is currently 13/1 EW on WA fixed.

Been lots of value this ‘west oz’ thread and predecessors (there’s been a few!) Thanks to all those that have provided input over the years. I frequent a handful of other forums on a regular basis – a west oz thread like this just doesn’t exist anywhere else.

Geez! the off again on again sale of Plastered seems to be OFF FOR GOOD.

The latest - potential controlling owner Wayne Barber has called the whole thing off after Plastered diagnosed in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago with a category 3 (serious) respiratory problem has now been diagnosed in Perth with a category 4 respiratory problem.

The future for Plastered? Well Lindsey Smith is pushing on with the Ascot summer carnival in mind but an operation to help rectify the problem hasn't been ruled out.

If they do continue on with summer carnival plans for Plastered there’s sure to be a large swag of sentimental money for him so you’d hope appropriate racing authorities would ensure he is sound enough to run before letting him do so.

addari 12th November 2005 06:01 AM

Plastered

Interesting dilemma! On one hand a big boost in public interest if Plastered IS part of the summer carnival and on the other hand looking after the interest of the general punting public with their hard earned on him when he races.
