Looking at Dust and Dollars in the next. Beat Pagan Prince last up over this distance. Seems to be good form with Pagan winning today.

pop 13th November 2005 06:47 PM

Hi Mad, nice win Dust and Dollars. Bit skinny in the end - paid $2.50 / $1.40 in WA.

I know it was only a country meet but when I saw her giving noted speedster Robyn's Jewel windburn I thought she won't have any petrol for last 100. Jock hit her a couple times and off she went again  HUGE performance!!

grey matter wrap-up

The greys almost scored the tri in the last at Geraldton yesterday finishing 1st, 2nd & 4th, the 4th horse Halo Song beaten for 3rd in a photo finish. Anyway results were Trib (3rd), Top End Starlight (unplaced), Maximum Force (unplaced), Grey Feather (unplaced), Halo Song (4th), Coined (1st), Penniesfromheaven (unplaced) and Anzafan (2nd).

The sooner they can bring her back to the city (Ascot) the better - imo. Think she will measure up but that is still to be proven.

Laetare's gone amiss!

The Ted Martinovih trained Laetare who finished 4th in both the last Perth and Adelaide Cups has strained ligaments in his lower off foreleg and has been ruled out of the Summer Carnival.

A big blow for connections after Laetare's last start strong performance in the York Stakes behind Danny Blue.

Expected to be out of action for at least 9 months.

pipedream 14th November 2005 01:24 PM

Rotten news! backed him both those cups and really thought he would go close this year.

pipedream 14th November 2005 01:28 PM

east meets west

Roman Arch is reported to be heading to WA to contest the $Million Bonus. Plan for Expunge hasn't changed still heading west for the cup. And Titanic Jack also a very likely Perth visitor.

westman 14th November 2005 07:29 PM

Expunge

A little surprised that Expunge is still coming over for the Cup, although his on pace style of racing might be an advantage given the way Perth Cups have been run in recent years.

Hey shaun! Irish Crusader's backing up in the Ballarat Cup on Wednesday. Do you think he can improve on his Bendigo Cup run (a respectable 4th)? And do you by chance have another nice roughie for us to put a little on? :)

Spin Silver

Yet another trial win today at Belmont for the maiden Spin Silver (previous trial performance reported this thread). Ran the 3rd fastest time of the 10 trials over the 1000.

Mav3000 14th November 2005 09:03 PM

Fire From Ice

And would you believe the fastest 1000M of the day was by a horse who raced just 2 days ago at Ascot - Fire From Ice!

Fire From Ice capitulated to finish 8lens behind Scenic Shot over 1400M on Saturday. Obviously trainer Paul Jordan is wasting no time getting the Key Business colt back on the straight and narrow!!

At first I thought the greys HAD snared the tri but then the replay showed the horse nearer the outside fence just pipping Halo Song on the line. Still, it was a great result for the greys.

Only two greys in the Ballarat Cup, (9) KEHLSTEIN & (16) STEELWORKER. I guess they have some chance but think both could be tested by the journey.

IRISH CRUSADER is too inconsistent for me to put into my top selections but will include him for 3rd. My roughie EW is REPUBLIC purely on old form, recent form sucks! My top two are TRUE COURSER who won the Bendigo Cup (although tread with caution if the track is worse than dead) and COMMAND 'N CONQUER who ran a solid 4th two starts back in the Geelong Cup behind Melbourne Cup placegetter On A Jeune.
