I was licking my wounds about Manjar on Saturday, and also wondering what happened to Snacking, after reading this thread, don't feel so bad and will be watching with interest at longer distances!! thanks guys, this is what the Forums all about!

Also couldn't split Covertly and Elicorsam, so was seriously doubting my future career in horse race investing, now after a few days and reading this forum, I'm thinking mmmmmm! thanks again!

With this in mind (and the considerable amount of interference suffered by a number of runners in the guineas) I’ve dismissed their seemingly disappointing runs on Saturday and look forward to their performances over more ground.

Think I might have read the same article. At first very surprised re Manjar but on reflection the way he kicked back in the Fairetha Stakes to beat Lock The Vault was most likely a sign of his staying ability.

Roman Arch and Titanic Jack would be the best of the visitors, proven at the appropriate level.

Cargo Cult and Benedetti are both on the way up.

Lifes A Bounty is more than capable on his day but can be inconsistent.

The lightly raced PENWORTHAN is my tip for this race. 3rd start back from a spell so should be ready. 2 starts at the distance for a win (Moonee Valley) and a 2nd (Flemington) good enough form to win this.

The pontiff might not want to watch this race, good chance he might have been on the eventual winner. The return of Free At Last and how she performs will be most interesting.

DCFC 23rd November 2005 08:09 AM

Hi Steve :) Apparently they're adding ************s to Wire Detonator's gear for the R.J. Peters Stakes in an effort to get him focused. Worked well with them yesterday so the report says.

puntersteve 23rd November 2005 08:14 AM

That's an interesting gear change DCFC. Thought he would do well in any case with a couple of runs under his belt. Wire Detonator is Sharon Miller's only Railway hope now that Elli's been declared a non starter, so it would be good outcome if the ************s do the trick ;)

For mine Professional Lady (PR1 today) was most disappointing last campaign which was winless from nine starts. Kicked off this campaign nicely winning first-up at Northam and then running an unlucky 3rd Ascot. On her true ability should win today but that remains to be seen.
