Weight ratings make up just one part of these overall ratings, but after a day like today, I'm beginning to think that perhaps I should just concentrate on the weight ratings and not worry about the other parts of the system.

Some of the results achieved by my VERY simple weight ratings method from the races that I posted today: Bond Street rated 2nd, Fiveoclockshadow rated equal 2nd, Divine Madonna rated 2nd, Watchyerback rated 2nd, Gallant Guru rated 2nd, Utility equal top rated, Prince Arthur top rated, Silky Red Boxer top rated.

It's hard to believe that the weight ratings could work really well on their own, because the way I do them is so very quick and easy and basic. But winners like Utility ($52) today and Whoever ($60) which was also top rated six weeks ago show that perhaps it could be something for me to look at.

Can i ask how Brom Felinity was with your weight ratings etc.

I snagged the tri but i had to load up on the selections for first had 8 on top to win.

On my own ratings it was down to around 11th rater but it had won last start etc and the neural time threw it up on top.

Also Idyllic prince how did that sit with you i had it 4th rated as it turned out was a good result.

The rest of the races i would rather forget...lol

On my Weight Ratings, Brom Felinity was rated 3rd (59.0) just behind 2 equal top raters Valkyrie Diva and Pin Up (both 59.5). Brom Felinity and Pin Up was a good quinella, so there's another example of where the weight ratings went well today.

I don't do ratings for the Perth races at the moment. When I get the whole rating process worked out and I know for sure which is the best way to go, then I will be able to do those races and Adel as well. At the moment, I'm just concentrating on Bris/Syd/Melb.

The most comsistent racing in the country.. Captive herd to work with, dry tracks, PHarvey, true to form running in general... why wouldnt you do em? The results are pretty consistent

U can't find the winner in every race in the first couple.. That is a fact.. Carnival time is notoriously difficult.. SR head south as a rule... Good Horses huge fields and that horrible Flemington track, thank whatever deity you thank, that the dump is being torn up as from today and there will be no racing there till 09/07.

Things should start to improve... the carny is over....well let's hope so :)
