My outsider for the race.. Woodala..

Too much weight for Black Tom, settled near the rear & that's where he stayed! Zero Engagement ran on well for 5th, Respect outstayed them, got 15/1 early fixed odds :) Laetare 8th coming from last on the turn.

Hi goldeee. I don't think it was just the weight that beat Black Tom. To be fair to the horse (and connections) he had no hope after becoming entangled with Coalseam at the 650m (when that horse clipped Woodala’s heels & dislodged it's jockey, Jason Brown). Also Black Tom's saddle slipped sideways in that incident. He did well just to finish the race imo.

BARABBA ROAD consistent without winning recently. Overdue a win & looks good value. COCINERO top effort first-up in the Standish, improved by that run. SUPER ELEGANT near his best would win this easily. Coming back from an injury but normally goes well fresh. DANCE THE WAVES shooting for the hat-trick is very capable on his day.

The old sandgroper Bomber Bill goes around again!
Yet to rate this race but expect EL SEGUNDO will be fav with fixed odds.

I hope I'm wrong but Bomber Bill (on his recent form) will have his work cut out keeping up with this lot.

On his best first-up form El Segundo looks the one they have to beat. Red Dazzler can put-in first-up. Super Elegant not a bad run first-up & will be improved by that run. Barabba Road's runs this campaign have been good. Likewise Cocinero. Watchyerback's last start win Caulfield very good. Should be a keenly contested event.
