Race 1.
Tough race here...the obvious here is Countess Bathory but she has weight now and the 1400m is a query..but i dont think theres much pace here which might suit..
Navarro looks next in line...but Sea Artiist even though beaten be her last start would of more improvement in her..it was only her third run back last start...so she'll be ready now to peak..
Will settle on Sea Artist here..becasue i'm sure they'll come for the top 2..
Asimba is a bit of a knockout here..has been working really well and the 1400m is maybe whats she's been waiting for..
will back Sea Artist here but will have something at the odds on Asimba as well..
Race 2.
Hello possums after a good run last start..and some consistent runs earlier looks good here..would want ateast 6's ..
Race 3.
Imprisoned looks way to good....will be short so not a bet option for me...
Race 4.
the top 2 look the class here,,,but they both have the weight...Nik Nak noee knocked me out of the tri last week ...ran a good race and the distance will suit..bad barrier but he drops out the back anyway...
Race 5.
bit of a lottery here.....probably Gazzam with the blinkers on,, flying late ..
Jade City has been ok of late as well.....hard race..
Race 6.
Princess MArgret is all the rage....but she wont get it all her own way here..
if i can get 5's about She's Decent i'll take her on....
Princess still has a bit to learn ....she'll be short ...
didnt take the short odds on her last start and was kicking myself...probably will be doing the same tomorrow..
Race 7.
Consular and Admiral Spy here...have them both rated about the same..
i know Consular has the weight but its only a couple more than last start...he's only peaking now...the distance is ideal,,,he wont be as far back as usual from the good barrier,,..
Admiral Spy drops a stack of weight and is improving..he loves the track and will be flying late....
looks like i'll be on both...
race 8.
Another lottery here...tropical express gets the good run here ,,as good as anything ...intersting trifecta hope is the botom 1....Sir woody had some good judges on last start..not overly keen here..hope i'm ahead by now..

Race 3
Kiss My Fugi...i liked his last run...the extra distance suits..is an improving type and might be at nice odds..
Race 4.
Winsome Dancer...is rock hard fit here..will be a heap of speed on here and hopefully she'll be out the back waiting for one crack at them down the straight...good run last start..
Race 6
Sqaure One e/w....roughie with no weight...the distance will suit...and the big weight takes care of the toppy..
Race 7.
Iron gail ..looks good here ...the claim helps a stack and i might get the 4's..

Melbourne (no hope at all :) )
Nuts about Jugah , Gold wells , Stratton place..
Race 6.
If its wet ..i like Super Elegant bit would want 4's or better..if its dead or better track i like Bomber Bill ...

Aerated looks good again....my only bet of the day in adelaide which is unusual for me....might have a look at Woman eyes whos crying out for a good track,,

Race 1: I think most will go past Dessetta because it ran 2nd to Jeteye last start over the same distance and class. But that time it ran from last on a slow track and it the conitions suit it should win

Race 2: Anyone's guess

Race 3: Midnight City will beat Ghengis here through class. Two starts ago it ran 2nd in a 1400m Group 1. Hasn't missed out on the top 2 when resuming before, and ran a good 3rd in its last barrier trial

Race 4: Very hard to split between Loftily and Wasimah here, try them in a quinella.

Race 5: I think the three top chances are Jovial, Newton's Rings and Salgado. All three have very good form goin into this and should run well

Race 6: Chrimson Sakura is a favoutire of mine, and will beet this ordinary field. Great last two runs and will do it again. So Assertive for a place

Race 7: Irongail here with the big weight. Won well when resuming over 1300m on a wet track. Quality mare who has come back well so is going to be very hard to beat again

Race 8: See The Bell has had two starts since a spell, both on wet tracks. Last start was a great run and will relish the 1200m


Melbourne

Race 2: Kepola battled on very hard last start and never gave in. Will lead unchallenged, and may take it all the way

Race 3: Delicate Snip has the form to win this and should do it relatively easily

Race 4: I like the outsiders Holmesa and Super Seren who will both love the 2000m and should go pretty close. No real standouts

Race 6: Super Elegant is an absolute special, but i will only back it if i get $2.90....can't see that happening though :o

Race 8: I think Power and Faith will like the step back in distance and will try and lead all the way

Race 1: Countess Bathory has been extremely unlucky so far this prep and could have easily have won every start so far, ofcourse there is the likely fact that the horse is going to go out at ridiculous for a horse which seems to run into an awful lot of trouble nearly everytime it races. I thought that Argenterie might be the best of the e/w chances in this race if it can get in from it’s wide gate then it is probably a realistic chance to maybe even win the race.

Race 2: Not a big fan of this one but I was given a bit of a tip for Chickadee today so I might have a small bet e/w on it.

Race 3: I think that Hard to Catch just might prove to be that yet again it has come back a much stronger horse and should be able to possy up not far off the pace and run down the horse that will be favourite Imprisoned I then thought Small Planet could possibly place at decent odds.

Race 4: Street Smart is ready to win a matter of whether the horse simply gets to far out of the race to be a winning chance though after drawing very poorly at decent odds probably 6 or 7-1 I would probably entertain him but to much under 5s would be hard to take for him. Sequestrate looks a chance and might end up good odds if a lot of money comes for both Street Smart and Cool Scene. Odds will dictate what I do here if I bet.

Race 5: Hamah, Argyle Gem and Fastness are the ones I like a bit here but would want double figure odds to entertain backing any of them Hamah is the one who probably has the best chance of winning out of them but isn’t exactly reliable either.

Race 6: Have some more beers

Race 7: Hard race as these ones always are once again even with the weight Consular is a big chance I do honestly think the mile is as far as he wants though so the good barrier draw could really help him a lot here as the last bit might just be really seeing him out. Kreislers Jewel and Step Ahead are both going to be coming from a mile back but they can both come home with a paralyzing run on there day and both should be pretty good odds will wait till tomorrow to make my decision here but it will be one of those 2.

Race 8: Not all that interested in this one but Sir Woody might be a bit of a chance looks to be traveling ok and should be able to secure a decent run in transit.

I really like Our Quivira tomorrow think she will go real close I also thought that Pekalan/ Ashkalante would be good shows in the same race and Crimson Sakura could finally win in Sydney.

forgot to add the "merlot Now fan club " tips...we've been on a magic roll of late..with Next now placing at odds last week...Desert ransom was our first loss for ages..but still a nice winning day..
Consular ...i was out voted here but the boys wanted to back up on him..
Bomber Bill ...on a dead or better track...
if its a no bet on Bomber we are having a sizable e/w on Square one..

Brisbane -

Anyone who finds a winner or 2 in Brissie tomorrow is a genius...

Race 1 - Agree with Mav that theres not a lot of pace here, so i've settled on Cortigiana down the bottom. Has won a couple of races in the provincials easily so deserves a shot at city class and from a good alley won't be far off (hopefully leading). Countess Bathory is a chance with a senior jockey but the weight is a big worry. Diagon Duchess will be near the pace and isn't without a chance.

Race 2 - Who cares. The two Collins runners (Ears to Victory and Art Success) look ok to me, but its not a great race. King Latarmiss is a chance on its run 2 back aswell.

Race 3 - The top 2 are the obvious ones, but i like the chances of 2 others. Buran and Mooralana. Buran's run 2 back was very good and with the alley can take up a good position. Mooralana gets a bit stirred up and can race a bit erratic but she has plenty of ability and if they hassle imprisoned in the lead (assuming they can get to him), she'll be thereabouts.

Race 4 - Socialist. Been looking for longer than 1200 and gets it here. With speed on i think he can go OK. Agree that the top 2 are the quality, but i think the weight will get Cool Scene here, he carried it well against inferior opposition last time but these strike me as being a better bunch. Street Smart will be running on as usual.

Race 5 - Time for a drink. Can't get to this race at all. Copper Penny might be a show from a good draw. Jade City has been going OK and Cocktail Shaker will run an honest race. Next please...

Race 6 - She's Decent has good Rocky form and has been successful in town before. Can't fault Princess Margaret's form but i'd rather go with the proven town horse at better odds. Maxy Legs a place chance, having no luck last time.

Race 7 - I must be missing something. I can't see much speed in this race, but i was told that big fields at the mile start at Eagle Farm always have good speed - so i'll trust that. I think San Carlo can be competitive here. Has been running reasonably well recently, but he has a slashing finish when he wants to produce it. Consular is as honest as they come and will be charging late even with the weight, and Kreisler's Jewel was a good run last time - the extra 200m will be a huge help.

Race 8 - If Colin's Party can get in from the alley, i think he can go close. Promising horse. Loughnan can improve on his last 2, from a good gate can secure a nice run. Tropical Express will be running on, as he always does...

Don't have a best bet....think its a pretty tough day.

Huge call Chuck, considering the horse hasn't run for well over a year now. Midnight City looked a top horse when last in work however. I know i'm out of my juridstiction here but gee i was impressed by the way Genghis won a fortnight ago, it was one of them runs you get the feeling the horse is pretty special. I think he'll win today, was considering saving on Midnight City, it's one of them if one goes out the other comes in races and they are always good for multiple bets esp. at top flux. Don't think Kiss My Fuji has the class here Mav, but i hope he runs second for ya.

Race 4: Is a tough race for sure, but most of us seem to think the toppy Cool Scene might be vulnerable here. If he is short on the tote i will play some exotics here. Socialist, Rule by Right, Indomato & Sequestrate will be my bankers. Must throw in Cool Scene, Beucappa, Fighter Pilot & Street Smart for the placings and hope for luck.

Race 8: I actually like this race a lot. I really think Brosero, Loughnan & Tropical Express are big chances here. I'll leave Murray Downs, Smart and Mighty & Sir Woody out of my tri here. Sir Woody is having his 8th run this prep and is a little inconsistent. Doesn't look like a possible improver to me.

Other bets:

Sydney: Kiss My Fuji & Stirred

Melbourne: Strategee Gee (saving on Delicate Snip) & Rare Poppi

None of us look real confident today in Brissie..
with the scratching of She's decent it leaves me with something else to beat her.....i might have a go at Maxy Legs ..her last few runs have been good..theres alot of speed here and from the good barrier should sit off them and be strong at the end..would want 5's or better..

Terrace in the 7th has no weight...bit worried about this one ,,has had the 3 runs back and should be ready to fire...if hes around the 8's or 9's i might slot him in there somewhere.....would want speed on ...can see from the wide barrier Desert Flight coming over ..and if he gets it easy in front and slows them up..he'll be hard to catch..
looks like i'll be on Admiral Spy and Terrace ..but will have Desert Flight on top with my excotics.
Have Consular in the fan club anyway ..so have a few bases covered here..
could get wiped out by Imperilism or San Carlo ....
very competitive race .....but a race like this theres always value so you can back a couple ..

seems everyone has forgotton about Thorpe in the last...just watched his last run ..he did cop a fair bump in the straight that seemd to unbalance him...the drop back to 1400m suits and at double figure odds might be a go...Tropical express might be unders...but if he isnt will look at both of them..

Dam Mr Alan Thomas has tipped Admiral Spy and Consular on top ....scared now ..lol

Cool response in Adelaide is a horse i've been on lately..will give him one more chance today...the freshen is what he needed ..
Satin Spin ..great last run...looks good aginst this lot...very confident.

Been following cool response as well Mav, and agree this is his last chance, been a little dissapointing I think. Certainly is capable of winning today though. Satin spin should win as well just needs to be ridden well, got held up last time definately the best horse in this race. Lotto rock in race 6 should go well fresh over the 1200 and the nice e/w odds look attractive. Burleigh is backing up from wednesdays win at gawler and 10-1 not bad value for him. Was at gawler wednesday and he hit the line very well and should be well suited at morphetville. Cumbria is an obvious danger, think this horse has some ability. Bet of the day for me is yarterbury, if its not flying home ill walk to china.
Just a quick mention has to go to not a blunder racing in queensland. Ive mentioned this horse on here before and he is another one that is sure to be running on late. Extra journey here will suit and they keep risking him to double figure odds. Still spewin he lost that photo month or so ago when he was paying 100-1......
Confident on a few winners today, hopefully it happens..

ahhhh..been on Hong Kong cheri the last 3 starts..thought the top 4 would be to hard for her to beat,,and she wins at any old odds..lol.
I am officially cursed in melbourne...i've said it for awhile now ...i've halved my stake down there and i'll be having that next time..
Stratton place hasnt a chance in hell in the last ..:) ..lay it to the max ..

woohooo. thank god..my first win of the day ..has been good to me lately has Aerated...have the tri 20x as well :) ...wish there was a 1st 4 on the race on unitab....was feeling like going out to the barn with a peice of rope after hong kong cheri got up ....

Woohoo :) ..wow what a finish ...Terrace was a great result for me ..no so much the merlot club..i tried to talk them out of it ..but we had a nice win on Square one so its all good..
had the tri and a bit of the 1st4 ....would of had the 1st 4 twice if Admiral spy got 4th ...thought he got there....
happy days as i was going to go the whole day in Brisie with out a win ...go Thorpe in the last..at huge odds :)

I cannot believe the odds that Smart and Mighty was hell that is huge odds for a horse which has raced pretty well in the past shame I wasn't taking any notice of the races at that stage might have had a bit on it at that price.

Silly to take on Countess Bathory here...the speed suited her and she was just to good...the speed didnt suit Sea Artist who was never in it..Asimba gave alot of cheek to finish close up....the 260 was more than i thought she'd be ..good value......a loss for the first :(
Race 2.
Nothing happening here..Bohieman dancer won for me a couple of starts ago but hes never convincing ..
Race 3.
Great tip Sven...Imprisoned looked to good ..was no value though ..but thought he ran pretty good....looks like 1200m might stretch him..
Race 4.
Nik Nak Noee was very prominent here and had no run on..just looked flat in the straight....thought he'd be out the back but a good win by Sequestrate and a really good run by cool scene..
Race 5.
Just way to hard here.....was never confident ..
Race 6.
Took on another big fav here and got stung again...maxy Legs just didnt get a fair crack at her..would of won imo ....
but still a good win by the Princess ..
Race 7.
Nice result here (and my only result)...Consular was super in defeat here..
Admiral Spy ran on as well..

Race 8.
Wow what a win by the toppy....thorpe had his chance here ..looks flat now with no excuses ...give him a break i think..

Still have Star Boulevard running around later...this horse won for me a couple of starts ago and saved from a loss that day..hopefully he looks after me today aswell :)

Hard day at the office...would of been nice cheering Terrace over the line at Eagle Farm...but a win for the day ...difficult day but i'm happy to be infront..if Star boulevard wins later on tonight i'll be cheering very loudly...

Midnight City looks to have come back well Chuck, good work. Did end up saving on him but what on earth happened to Genghis Khan, drifted out the gate and ran accordingly. I'm calling for a royal commission.

I was about to back Aerated Mav but just missed the race, i really liked the run Dzerzhinski put in behind it last start and will be backing him with confidence at his next start hopefully over a bit more ground.

Race 1 - Not a good start, ended up on Diagon Duchess, and shouldn't have been :)...Countess Bathory too good for them.

Race 2 - Would never have backed Bohemian anyway, so no regrets here.....no damage done.

Race 3 - Always thought Buran might be good value, and with the impressive run 2 back when it beat Florilegium home...suffice it to say a nice result. Mooralana didn't do much. Although, being on track at the time and not having a TV handy, i wasn't happy when the protest siren went up...

Race 4 - Socialist didn't run on as expected, would have to see a replay but beaten on his merits i think. Good win by Sequestrate, never gave em a chance.

Race 5 - ACK!...Why couldn't Cocktail Shaker have been 3/4 of a length better?! Nice result on the E/W but a win would have been nice :) Not a lot else to say about the race though - don't look for any flash form out of it, thats for sure.

Race 6 - No Interest, Princess Margaret won well, and has been perfectly placed so far.

Race 7 - I could have sworn Consular got in here, but nice win by Terrace. Good run by Imperialism who was held up in the straight also. San Carlo didn't run on - probably isn't up to this class.

Race 8 - Barrier did a lot to hinder Colin's Party's chances, but i think Smart and Mighty was far too good anyway. CP is one to follow in the future tho. It does sometimes pay just to go with the quality in the race...not that i'll ever learn from that...

best sprint in the straight i've seen for a while.

i thought it had lost but there you go.
races been tough (for me lately) just had the best week for a few months.
shows how the swings and roundabouts go and the different performances of our selection criteria. some weeks it works and then goes cold for periods of time.
at one point since wednesday had 5 good wins out of 7 races but nearly lost yesterday until smart and mighty came in,. and then On the Whistle got up in perth. (perth hasnt been kind lately either) due mainly to short priced horses winning too often.

Has been tough Topsy....
dont usually look at Perth all that much but thought the odds $2.80 about Dakas Gem was real good value..won so well last start..was'nt confident enough to go all out but a nice collect just the same..
Perth reminds me alot of Adelaide...where when a horse hits form ..stick with it.Clearview, Aerated , Oakwood are ones in adealide recently that keep winning....
Smartn Mighty was fantastic ..especially with that weight..
You have to ride the waves when punting...although i've had a few slips of late i havent had the dreaded wipeout..i can usually keep on going even though it gets a bit rough....
sign of a good team if its keeps winning when not playing all that well :)

Hoping today Kaaptive Idea grabs the outside sprint lane and wins :)

how's it going all ...hey ed you said you want a royal commission into khan well i think there should be a revolution about shadowmaker ,the horse gets backed in for ********loads on course and jumps on course fav comes last by fifty lenghts and hardly a word is said about it.....if betfair was here im sure all the moneypot ****************s would have blamed it on them and while im getting ******** of my liver did anyone read **************** dannys story in the sportsman,,i think he's left half his brain in the sauna room or hes on a nice sling from the moneypot ****************s why his wing gets fixed...there that feels better..

i noticed irish noble running in launceston today. recently placed in sydney for clarrie connors and now trained by royston carr in hobart.

must have been beaten by 200 yards today.
maybe they should look for somewhere easier for these sydney horses.

I might be wrong Chuck but I don't think that Salgado ran 4th Pekalan was 4th and Ashkalante was 5th with what I saw but I only saw the race once didn't actually see the results.

i saw kaaptive idea's race. i dont know what happened. he certainly was heading for the outside sprint lane but the other horse got in the way.
i assume he lost on protest.
bad luck as he ran well.
