Not sure where you got those from, but you've got some weird ones there.

For example, all those final prices of $1.01 on Aug28 certainly aren't right, because nobody would have been still betting on teams like West Coast, Adelaide etc to make the 8 at that stage. And those highest prices of $9999 are a mistake too. That just means that was when they were taken out of the betting.

Sportz 30th August 2005 08:28 AM

These were my AFL futures bets this year. A couple of embarrassing ones but overall, pretty good. I'm already in profit (only by $19) with the premiership still to be decided. Perhaps I should now back Adelaide and I reckon that would just about seal it. Or else I'll just wait till the Grand Final and take some sort of saver then, because I'm confident that either St Kilda or West Coast will be there. Wish I had waited with Port Adelaide. Backed them very early and that bet looks pretty stupid right now!

Premiership(Out $150, In ???)
Port Adel: $50 @ $3.85
St Kilda: $50 @ $5.25
West Coast: $50 @ $5.75

Final 8 (Out $200, In $283)
West Coast: $60 @ $1.35 WON $81.00
Geelong: $60 @ $1.40 WON $84.00
Sydney: $30 @ 1.80 WON $54.00
Carlton: $10 @ $2.10 Lost :o
Adelaide: $40 @ $1.60 WON $64.00

Other bets (Out $100, In $186)
St Kilda top Vic team: $40 @ $2.25 WON $90.00
Port Adel top interstate team: $20 @ $2.35 Lost
West Coast last team standing: $20 @ $2.80 WON $56.00
Coleman medal - Fraser Gehrig: $10 @ $4.00 WON $40.00
Coleman medal - Matthew Lloyd: $5 @ $6.00 Lost
AFL/NRL double - Port Adel/Bulldogs: $5 @ 16.00 Lost :o

Swans * and Saints * get on

mad 2nd September 2005 07:01 PM

Just heard on the radio,

Maguire out and a question over the G - train.

Thought the trip to Perth would have swung it the way of the Saints, tough game last week for Crows over at Subiaco. Now not so sure.

Sydney @ 1.90 with points.
Crows at home 4 me.

mad 3rd September 2005 04:46 PM

In case anyone is interested and has access,

Bet365
Adelaide @ $2.00 -3.5 points.

Might have a go at that i might

mad 3rd September 2005 09:31 PM

Congrats Saints, too good, clean skills and committed.

Made a fool of me.

Crows very disappointing.

mad 4th September 2005 03:59 PM

Wow Port Power.

Look out other teams, Port on the rampage now!

Your premiership bets looking good now Sportz.

Sportz 4th September 2005 04:24 PM

Yeah, not bad.

So, that means the prelim finals will be St Kilda VS Sydney/Geelong and West Coast VS Adelaide/Port Adelaide. I think that's right.

rabbitz 4th September 2005 05:12 PM

PLEASE please pleAsssE NOT port adelaide
i'll be physically sick if they win
i want st kilda yes st kilda
go adelaide go go go

Well, why don't you back them, Rabz. That should stop them. :D

mad 4th September 2005 09:02 PM

Yep Sportz - spot on with prelims.

Judging by the weekends performances, at this early stage i would have to go Sydney at home and Port over Crows. Sorry Rabz but me thinks the power are hitting their straps, talk about cuttin it close. If they get their tails up they will be very hard to beat. Although we'll see what the week brings.

So we could have Saints vs Sydney and Eagles vs Port as Prelims.
Hmmmm - could be interesting.

rabbitz 5th September 2005 05:25 AM

Week 2

Sydney $1.42
Geelong $2.80
____________

Adelaide $1.77
Bogan City ********ers $2.00(port Adelaide for those unfamiliar)

rabbitz 5th September 2005 01:05 PM

Sydney$1.35
geelong $3.20
____________

Adelaide $1.90
Bogan City $1.90

mad 5th September 2005 03:16 PM

I know i said in a previous post that i would tip Sydney at home but $3.50 for the Cats at various books has got to be overs. They are not without hope here, a big effort - Yes, Sydney are a strong team and are deserved favourites. But $3.50 is a little rich for mine, be interesting to see what points will be available. I think it will be closer than these odds suggest.

Sportz 5th September 2005 03:24 PM

Well, if you think they're a chance, perhaps you could take the points start. By my calculations, it should be a start of around 16-18 points.

mad 5th September 2005 06:26 PM

If i could get a 3 goal start i would definitely consider it - you'd have to, wouldn't ya?

rabbitz 6th September 2005 06:15 AM

Ive just taken a small AFL/NRL premiership double
Port Adelaide/Parramatta @ $27 on centrebet
I decided to be totally unemotional about it.However with my luck lately hopefully it will be dead and buried saturday night. However Part 2,If it gets up i can get blotto and cry in me beer
So its a WIN-WIN situation
Cheers

mad 8th September 2005 02:27 AM

Well, well, well!

Lines are up for Sydney vs Geelong game. Can get 23.5 points $1.90 for Geelong. For those of you not entirely writing off Geelong, such as me, i would suggest this as a reasonable chance. It's a do-or-die final, expect it to be close either way. For those brave souls out there you can get Geelong/Port to win double at 3.70 & 2.02 at Pinnacle. Might be worth a coupla knicka' on the Noggin!

mad 8th September 2005 08:09 AM

Out to $4 at Olympic for Geelong to win. More interesting is the line they have established +24.5 points.

Hmmm the plot thickens - hope i'm correct in my assessment.

mad 9th September 2005 04:18 PM

Anyone from Sydney? What's the weather like up there today, supposed to blow a gale for tonights game. If so a scrappy low scoring affair expected.

Geelong for me, with points (+23.5).

Any thoughts on tommorrows game Crows and Power?
Power with points (+5.5) for me, just. These games are always close.

Best of luck all.

Sportz 9th September 2005 09:48 PM

Wow, that was some game tonight!!! Incredible.

mad 9th September 2005 10:13 PM

Sure was.

Heartbreak for the Cats but the better team won. Good game next week now Swans vs Saints.

Sportz 9th September 2005 10:21 PM

As a punter, it shows the value of having a points start too. If you backed Geelong to win, it would have been painful, but with the points start, it was never really in doubt.

mad 9th September 2005 10:42 PM

Sure does, particularly 4 or so goals - hard to go past.

I was cranky enough that Sydney got that last goal even though i had the points!

mad 10th September 2005 12:48 PM

Some talk down here that Peter Burgoyne might not play. Would be a blow to a weakened Power midfield as they will miss his ball carrying and delivery skills. Might be enough to tip this in the Crows favour.

Decisions, Decisions.

rabbitz 12th September 2005 09:31 AM

Preliminary finals(opening prices)
Friday night(mcg)
St kilda $1.36,-17.5=$1.90,-22.5=$2.10

Adelaide $2

Cheers

mad 12th September 2005 01:55 PM

Here i go again,

But i rate Sydney a good chance over the Saints and again the points +22.5 make this a very interesting betting situation.

goldmember 15th September 2005 06:38 PM

I reckon the saints /swans game is 50/50, but the swans with that start look a good bet, Rabbs, that dont make no sense, the swans get more start [+22.5] and are a better price [$2.10]than at the line, shouldnt the line be reduced for the $2.10. ?
