Makybe v Confectioner

Can anyone tell me or where to look to find the sectionals for the above horses for the turnbull stakes? i am really only fussed about the 1000-winning post.

Regards,
Real Deal

i guess my question to come out of this is, do you think confectioner can win the caulfield cup (if it gets a start) as a backmarker?

1000m Sectionals: Turnbull Stakes.

Field: 58.86
Makybe Diva: 57.61
Confectioner: 57.57

Based on that run he's in with a chance. Would want good ground though.

Sportz 3rd October 2005 04:24 PM

Last 600m:

Confectioner 33.17
Makybe Diva 33.21

I don't think he can win it personally - think he is more comfortable over 2000, not 2400. I really don;t know why sir dex is 17 dollars at the moment, he looks the winner to me. I think the other one who is outrageously over the odds is portland singa.

What are peoples views on lachlan river?

i made a very simple spreadsheet for the turnbull sectionals - but it really shows alot about the race....the four sheets are obviously final 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1200m

sectionals do state that confectioner is quick.. however, could you say that makybe diva was truly pushed? king said after the race he didnt do much, she just went wen 'he' wanted to go.

also as someone stated previously. can confectioner run the 2400m. im a fan of hes but am unsure of his potential.

can someone plz tell me the chances of the following running in the;

COX

confect.
xcellent.
desert war.
perlin.

CAULF

dizelle.
perlin.
xcellent.
confect.
railings.
sir dex.
desert war.

cheers,
matt

Spirit i dont reckon portland singa has the class to win the caulfield cup and i think the 2400 is a bit short for him. hes a bit to one paced for mine. on lachlan river i think hes a very good horse in the making. if he starts he will be very competitive but i believe he will be set up for the carnival next year and will be one to watch

Im staying on thats for sure. But dont think she can win any of the major races just yet. But wouldn't surpise me if came away with a big win.

Sportz 4th October 2005 04:54 AM

Sorry Rudolph, but she's never been a realistic winning chance in any race so far and won't be until the Cups. That's what they're aiming at, nothing else. In an interview last week, the trainer said he would actually be disappointed if she won the Turnbull because that would mean she was probably too sharp and peaking too early for the Caulfield Cup. I've personally never been a huge fan, but I must admit I was sort of swayed by the thoughts of a lot of the experts who were tipping her and I included her in my Fantasy stable for this month.

Absolute Unit 4th October 2005 09:37 AM

Vouvray is huge chance to win the caufield cup.

The reason she hasn't been winning is as sportz said she is being targetted at the cup, also she has been racing against makybe diva and lad o t m, which she wont be trying to get past in the cup.

my thoughts on the caufield cups main chances at this stage are:Confectioner, vouvray, sir dex, perlin and Xcellent

Tenacious Spirit 4th October 2005 01:12 PM

I heard perlin is only running in the cox and not the caulfield. very scepticle about confec over 2400.
