Think you will go close with those picks mad.
With caufield I really like to wait and see how the track is rated and to a lessor extent the bias.

I like Perlin/confectioner/Foo but will prolly look on. Think Grey's Inn and Lachlan river are the value in the race. El segundo might be anything as well but am happy to leave him out at this stage.

On a dry track Paratroopers is obviosly one to beat. I am going to knock stratum, just hasnt done enough as a 3yo for me. Red dazzler good hope and not going to discount Perfectly Ready.

Toorak is one hard race. Smoking Joe is in great form but is not winning which is always a concern. Sky cuddle drops about 6.5 Kilo's on her last start win. has to be a good chance, handles all going. Calveen bit of a wildcard. If it's dry I will be interested to see how modem goes and if he gets out to silly odds may spec him. Chuck in enconsul as well. not far away this spring. Won the guineas from the inside draw last year.

Lachlan river is intriguing me now.... El Segundo is another i am struggling to get to grips with. He destroyed the field at Moonee Valley last start over this distance. Granted their wasn't much opposition but he did the job as convincingly as anything running on Sat would have done.

I agree, however i am not giving up on stratum just yet, probably won't win though. He'll be there or there-abouts. A place would be a good result for him i suppose. As for paratroopers, this is his first run in Melbourne (i think). I'm always wary of Sydney horses first run in Melbourne, plus a bit of rain around. If their was a race to take him on i think this might be it, but who...

Actually the more i think of it, the tougher these races are looking.

here are my selections Top horse is the main selection.. Going wide in R6.. I think the form stacks up ok... and someone is either mad or a genius at running first up at 2000m... willing to take the risk here.. its a a Zabeel and is in the winning distance range.. last start 2nd in A G1 at Shatin... 2 goes at the distance for 2 placings, first up 3 times a win and a minor, wants a dry track by the looks of it tho, but is untried on soft ground, that would be my main concern..

One thing I pick up form this 3 races. G.Child only riding in one of them - that's Caulfield Guineas on Primus. Normally a jockey will put extra effort to win that race. I might put him in my multiple base on that.

That's what happens when you're superstitious. I REALLY like El Segundo and I have for a while now, but I didn't want to jinx him by tipping him here. :D

My entire plan went out the window soon after the jump if it had gone the way I thought it was going to Fields of Omagh would have been sitting where El Segundo was could have made it interesting never a chance from where it was they were the 2 with the best form in the race just got it around the wrong way myself typical lately.
