I have just started testing a couple of greyhound racing systems and thought I would post up the selections. Some of the races have already occurred and they have gone ok.

There are 3 systems I am trialling :

1. Fastest split time as per form guide.
2. Fastest inside split time
3. Fastest by a large margin.

The tips were/are :

Overall it appears that System 1 (fastest split times) and System 3 (large margin) seem to be both in profit. I will probably drop system 2 as it is too inconsistent.

System 3 has 8 Selections. This might be a bit loose and should be tightened up a bit but there are some good selections in these. Particularly R9 and R10 at Horsham.

Horsham has finished its card so I have updated the overall result of system 1 and system 3.

So far at Sandown System 1 has picked up (from 3 races) another $6 winner and a second. System 3 has only had 1 race for a second.

I have done some past results but not enough to quantify the system as worthwhile yet. I'll keep posting them till the systems show a significant loss ( hopefully this is never ).

Day 4 Results
 

Here are the results including Saturday. I can't find the results or tote numbers for Healesville so I have treated that whole meeting as a no bet.

System 1 is still showing a profit although it is dwindling. This is because of a large number of second placings.

System 3 is still showing a healthy profit of 48% but there have not been aenough races to confirm its accuracy.

The Best bets I gave at each meeting ( Wangaratta and the Meadows ) both won easily.

Only 1 meeting tongith which is Sale.

Hey do you bet on Healsville? That is a non-TAB event...

Do you head down to the track and bet? Or just follow your selections results wise not betting wise?

There was one certainty at Healsville Race 7) #6 it got knocked at the start and was last then it absolutely stormed home for an easy win in a great time. Would have gone quicker if that track had not been hampered by rain, and had the dog not been hit at the start.

I don't believe I can come up with any system which doesn't require some judgement based on the price at run time.

If I add value into most systems they all work. ( ie only bet if the win is greater than $3 or even sometimes only bet if the win is less than $2).

Making a system which isn't based on value is very hard and at this stage for me is impossible.

But its fun trying ....
