CRASH.
Yeah . His bloods worth bottling .
With all this political correctness flowing about its good to see a fair dinkum Aussie calling a Bxxxxx spade a shovel. Cheers. darky. |
noticed an item in the website regarding the decline of black type racing in sydney. this has been happening for many years and i think is because of the onset of corporate racing. the big trainers the big owners has caused a lack of competition in the industry.
the costs of the good horses and the costs of the good trainers with the megastables is too dominant and is leading the decline. the day might come as with the Widden stakes that when the big 4 trainers enter then nobody else will bother. black type races with 4 starters is an insult. i used to suggest that race prizemoney should be divided by 14 and multiplied by the number of starters equals the total prizemoney for the race. if the trainers dont bother entering then why give away the money. |
I think it's called Corporate racketeering Topsy. A 'race' to the bottom in the end? I can always take up sailing here [I'd be a good 'ballast' crew].
NIGHTMARE ON FERRELS ROAD sounds like the Aussie culture and values that our industrious leaders and radio Shock Jocks keep talking about [but wont define] ---------- .....Hic !!! I love a sun burnt county, Baxter on the plains. Christmas Island and Nauru Our greatest claims to fame Little Johnny is our mate battlers all one and true. ................ She'll do me this wide brown land ....just don't call us number 2. By Crash. |
i am sure the reprobates from ferralls road wouldnt appreciate your literary merit crash.
but well done. in the case of ferralls road and the behaviour of racegoers the issue is covered by the liquor laws. it is an offence to serve or supply intoxicated persons perhaps the police should book the race club to instill better management practices. |
Did I say something wrong on the last thread?

Couldn't imagine why that thread has been removed other than by accident. If it has been removed, i've certainly had my last visit to the site. |
An explanation for education's sake at least please admin. This is becoming a very conservatively moderated forum.

Doesn't look like you'll get an explanation Tubby. Probably the "smoke police" at work |
The management did a nice job of editing out a verse of my poem, On later reflection, it was the sensible thing to do [thanks] as I was unable to edit it out myself [the 1/2 hour edit rule]. The verse was a sexist caricature. I must remember we have female visitors here. The poem still 'works' without the offending verse.

Dear Sir/Madam, I believe I can understand the commercial/legal interests of running a forum such as this. that is not to say I always agree with the degree of censorship but I can at least at times appreciate your reasoning (as Crash quite humbly agreed with). I also believe that myself, like most of the other regular forum users are intelligent and do not deliberately intend to abuse the forum's rules. The infrequent "blow-ins"who try to peddle this and that or promote their own interests are quite correctly "dealt with". Because of the above, I become frustrated when I cannot understand why particular threads suddenly go "missing". A brief post on the forum or a quick email to the member(s) involved would be most appreciated. Kind Regards David Walker (Even used my name so I must be serious) |
I wouldn't worry about it too much Dave [as a big bloke I'm not fond of the word tubby anyway]. Moderators here are always kept busy. I can think of a few examples over the last couple of days most members here would not have even noticed. An explanation every time would turn a seriously thankless task into a seriously rotten task taking twice as long. I'm sure it's nothing personal.

Swore I wouldn't post again if that thread had been removed but: It is particularly annoying when the whole thread is removed because of one or two unacceptable entries. Smacks of gross arrogance in my books. Regardless of anything else, this forum needs unpaid contributors to keep it alive or there would not be a forum. Even though it's a racing forum, I welcomed a chance to hit back in a small way against the hypocrisy (hypocricy) of the cretins running the anti smoking movement. Lots of punters are smokers and massive contributors to the tax cache of Australia. |
