FANTASY RACING 4 (3YO selections)
 

Okay, I decided to start a new thread for the selection of our 3YO runners.



Here's how it all works:

We can choose horses in two ways. Firstly, there will be "auctions" of the top priced horses and these auctions will conclude on the Sunday night. Then starting on the Monday night, all of the remaining horses in that category will be available for anyone to claim.

In the 3YO category, you can choose a total of 2 to 6 horses and spend a maximum of $1,000,000.

As soon as I post the list of horses for each category, you can make a bid for any one of the horses up for "auction". These horses are listed in bold. When you post a bid, please set it out clearly with the full name of the horse and your bid. For example:

Miss Finland $450000

You can make bids for more than one horse at a time if you wish, but PLEASE remember that you can't exceed the salary cap of $1,000,000 and you can't cancel any bids you make. So make sure that at any one time, you don't have leading bids for horses totalling more than $1,000,000.

The minimum bid you must make for a horse is the reserve price that I have listed next to the horse. If you make a bid and nobody else posts any bids at all for that horse, then it's yours. Bids must increase in increments of $5,000. In other words, if the current highest bid is $355,000, then you must bid at least $5,000 more; $360,000. You can raise the bid by more than $5,000 if you wish. ($10,000, $15,000, $20,000 etc)

Bids must be posted before the auction deadline to count. In other words, if the auction deadline for a particular horse is 7:00pm, then you must have your bid posted by no later than 6:59. Whichever person has the highest bid for the horse at the deadline time on Sunday night, will get the horse. If two people happen to post the same bid at the same time, then the one whose post appears first on the forum will take precedence.

After the auction has concluded on Sunday night, the sale for the remaining horses in the category will begin at 7pm Qld time on Monday night. The first person to claim each horse at the set price will get to buy it. As with the auction, if two people post the same horse at the same time, the one whose post appears first takes precedence.

Oh, I've probably missed quite a few good ones. I'm sure I'll think of some over the next few days that I could have included. In any case, if you want to pick them, they're yours for $100,000 on Monday night if you're the first to mention them.

dont hold me to it but i thought Wonderful World was done for Autumn? I am not going to take you on sportz but i would suggest some research done if bidding for it. thought it got injured badly before it was supposed to run derby day.

No, you could be right there.

I had forgotten about that. But now that you mention it, I do remember he was injured and had to be scratched. But I didn't think it was really serious.

Anyway, as with ALL of the horses on the list, I make no guarantees that they will be running during the autumn. If I know for certain that they won't, then I take them out of the list, but there's no doubt at all that I will have missed some along the way.

So please be careful with all of your selections, as once you make a bid, you can't cancel it.

If anyone has any definite information regarding Wonderful World, could you let us know. Until then, it might be best if we leave him alone.

The hardest part is trying to find anything about these horses it is near impossible I was just trying to find out about Mentality and gave up and just bid on it anyway.

now that its a done deal i think miss finland could be the worst buy of the list. Isnt she going to dubai and having maybe one run here? Sportz has already said dubai is out so i reckon westi will be real lucky to get the $900,000 back.

I know for sure that Miss Finland is going to Dubai not sure that it is only going to be one run in Australia before she goes though thought it was going to be a couple.

Tawqeet, Gallant Guru, Soulacroix, Glistening, King of Ashford are nominated for the 2400m Sheema Classic ($6.4 million). maybe 1 or 2 will run there

Miss Andretti and Here de Angels are nominated for the 1200m Gold Shaheen ($2.5 million), can't see them both running, doubtful over even 1

The rest are nominated in the 1777m Dubai Duty Free ($6.4 million) so hard to see more than 1 or 2 of those running

Sorry Sportz but as I won't be able to access the forum on Sunday night I'll have to plonk the full allowable $900,000 on MEARAS - one of my favs. Just have to have in my stable.

Well there are only 2 on the both lists that interests me (and they're still available), while there are a couple of others not mentioned that I really like.

yeah it's true mate, but next time i think we need an overall salary cap a bit less than the current 2.5 mill, say 1.75 and then you'd have to think a bit more about those big bids and shop around more, especially if you still needed min. 2 horses in each category.

Personally I think the only way you can get away from this is limiting how much the value can be raised say a maximum of $50,000 per bet and one person cannot raise his own bet.

I should point out, buyers should check horse history carefully before biding. You might find yourself with horses that are off to a 3mth spell [EG: Churchill downs, Gold Edition, and Publishing to name a few about to spell].

Ummm, Woody, sorry mate, but you didn't select any 4YO+ horses at all before the deadline passed last night, and we already have 21 stables, so I'm afraid I can't really let you get involved in the 3YO auction.

In any case, with no 4YO+ horses at all in your stable, you would have very little chance of winning.

Sportz, am I still able to pick a stable 'A' from remaining 4YOs+ ?
