finished 8th. sat just off the speed throughout, faded over the concluding stages.

HUGE run by the 3rd horse! Four wide all the way. Not a good ride by its jock!
|
Well, they could have simply sent him to Sydney, won the BMW, and got 1 1/4 million bucks.

The 3 mill was obviously more alluring! |

Always wiser after the event |
On the subject of poor rides & Pop Rock, even though Pop Rock missed the jump [Sheema Classic] he was caught wide at the back end of the field thereafter. Not one of Pesiler's better rides!

Anyone know where I can see a replay of the race?

Pompeii Ruler mentioned in the run once before the post. Heard some UK guys on Betfair Radio bemoaning stables that send horses to Dubai. They claim the horses are never the same again. Let's hope that's not the case for Pompeii. |
Gee Pompeii Ruler did absolutely nothing! Thanks AngryPixie ;)

Anyone wanting to view any of the races from the World Cup can do so here:
http://blog.dubairacingclub.com/media/dwc2007/index.php For those of you saying the Pompii Ruler should not of gone and stayed in sydney, if you had the chance to send a horse to the best race meeting in the world with other $30mil on offer for the day i'm sure you would. If you never go you will never know. If you watch the run it wasn't all that bad, was further back that would of liked and also 3 wide the trip. From the meet, Invasor is the one to watch in the World Cup. Also a super win from Asiatic Boy absoluetly smashed the field. Also a special note to a horse with links to Australia, Vengence of Rain. Formely owned by Llyod Williams and sold to HK. A super win. Jeff |

We all know he's a lot better than that. Now spelling, next mission the Cox Plate. |
Connections of Pompeii Ruler are hoping to get another crack at the Dubai Duty Free next year. They believe PR will be a much tougher horse in 12 months.
