I made another mistake - Wyong race 3 was not a qualifying race as it was 2,100 metres so I will not include it in the results. Interestingly, it produced a small profit.

There were 30 selections today from the 4 races for a profit of $13.60, Unitab divvies suffered a loss of $2.00.

There have now been 82 selections for a profit of $27.30. On Unitab the loss is $5.40 which is a LOT of 6.6%.

I'll no longer record quinellas as they do not attract the low takeout.

Why don't you just back every horse in the race:P?

A Win bet using level stakes, but only with Betfair because of the superior prices.

As a matter of interest, the Neural Method has now snared the winner of Sun Coast R4 No.12, and also the $230 quinella. I got the winner at $65, however on Betfair S.P. it paid an amazing $130.

A losing day - it lost $6.90. Even though it struck 6 of the 7 winners they were unfortunately amongst the fancied horses.

There have now been 239 selections for a POT of 7.9%.


Neural Method,

Today won $39.00.

There have now been 76 selections for an unrealistic POT of 78.90%.


Tomorrow I won't be looking at either system because for the past 2 Saturdays the normal method only broke even, and I've never really been enthused with the neurals for Saturday racing.

I made an expensive error yesterday with the normal system. Muswellbrook R10 was a qualifying race but I missed it. The selections would have been nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 12. No.1 won and paid $16.70 on NSW and $14.70 on Unitab. I don't know what price I would have snared it on Betfair but if it had been $12 or better, then the method would have shown a profit for the day's betting. This will not be included in the results. Its disappointing but at least the system shows promise.

Yes, my results are based on the assumption that a $1 level stake has been bet on every selection, but any amount can be bet.

The only reason I've nominated a $1 bet is for the convenience when recording the results.

Even dutching all selections I believe would more or less get the same result. For example, yesterday the method had 5 races and the winner was struck in all of them but only produced a profit of $0.90 betting the nominal $1 on all the selections. And today Wellington R6 which has just been run and won produced a loss of $1.60 with a $1 bet on all the six selections, but if dutched for a target of $10 then the race would have produced a profit of approx $2.66 when the 5% commission is deducted.

Its the swings and roundabouts scenario with level or dutch betting, but I bet level stakes because I find it easier to do so, and also easier to record the results.


Edit - Murwillumbah R5 has just been run and won. I snared the winner at $15.50 which has produced inxs of a 100% POT - dutching would not have given such a high POT.

It was Dubbo race 6 which I now notice paid only $86, I must have looked at the interim/partial pay dividend which showed $128. I will now amend my quinella results. As a matter of interest, I have just looked at some interim results (NSW TAB) and there are quite a few discrepancies when the final results are shown.

Unfortunately I omitted to show Dubbo's race number yesterday. Sorry about that.

Out of interest I checked yesterday's five races with the Unitab and also the DFS ratings. Unitab did not do much good but DFS selected the winner in the five races, with three quinellas which would have produced a good profit.
