OK just a quick fun comp.

$100 to spend. $5 min $10 max bet

Caulfield Cup, Cox Plate and Melbourne Cup only using the current betting market. Entries Close at midnight 31st August.

I will post up the runners in the different fields on race day as well as who is still alive for the second legs into the Cox Plate and Melbourne Cups

Nobody seems to want to have a go at your comp, mate.

Perhaps extend the cutoff deadline. I know myself, I haven't got a firm opinion on the big races yet.

Also, can you explain the rules a bit more. Don't quite understand what you mean by the $5 min, $10 max bit. Does that refer to the total cost of the bet or the $ units?

lol i forgot i posted this up. Yeah it means basically you can have a $5 or $10 bet of say Maldivian to win the Caulfield Cup into Tuesday Joy to win the Melbourne Cup. So you can have 20 $5 bets or 10 $10 bets or a mixture of both.

I guess i can extend the entries untill the end of September and so we can get some different entries email them to me rather than post them up.

Just love having a go at early doubles,,,managed to jag one a few years ago (good old FOO) at ridiculous odds so now i'm forever hooked..

yeah i got hooked when a girl at my work jagged one with Media Puzzle in the Melbourne cup a few years back. She picked up about 12k so i always chuck a few on when the markets come out.

I thought I heard on Sport 927 a few weeks ago that Tuesday's Joy would be in Melbourne for the Spring, but for quarantine purposes and therefore would be missing the Melbourne Cup (and others) as it is heading overseas to race in Dubai(?) in early December.

I could be wrong and they may have changed their minds, but I'd seek confirmation before taking the all-in bet types (if greater than $10 bets LOL ).

not sure i'm much of a chance with the others,,,sad news about Tuesdays Joy ,,

Yeah very unfortunate about tuesday joy. Thats twice now ive backed a horse from when betting has started and its come out a few weeks before. Last time was a bit closer, i had backed our smoking joe two years ago and got $30 and $40 early in the peace he came right in to about $12 and was scratched on derby day. Ive got a fair few doubles still with Littorio and Nom de Jeu in the Caulfield Melboune Cups, not in this comp, just ones ive put on earlier. Master O is looking great to. As expected yesterdays race has definitely shuffled the markets up alot now.

no Zipping in the CC ,,looks as though i'm down to two live chances :(

ooops but in a funny Cox plate and Rosco looking at scratching the Huss in CC i'm probably still a chance for him in the Cox ..

It knocked most people out on the day of the race, let alone anyone tipping 6 weeks before!

Raw still alive :) if you get the Makybe Diva hose out next Tuesday morning you might have a chance .

lol his run in the caulfield cup wasn't bad but only for a horse who looked to have a rough sort of place chance in the cup no idea why i even went with it as my cup selection as the only horse I have liked since the markets 1st came out was Nom Du Jeu not sure what i was thinking here.

Viewed needs the rain to come but apparently its forcasted :) I think hes the 2nd best of the Aussies behind efficient. His run in CC was very good and bred to run the distance and does have the cummings factor. I wouldn't be giving up just yet.

yea I agree he isn't a bad chance in the race the only horses from Australia I can still entertain in the race are Efficient, Littorio, Master O'Rielly & Viewed then I think the 2 kiwis are a big chance C'est La Guerre (I would still call him a kiwi I know Williams owns him now) & Nom Du Jeu.

Well I wish I could say I had a shot at the double but it would be all lies atleast i got something right cause I didn't have a thing on either one of them

Well done raw, thats great tipping. There was one guy at the pub i was at yesterday jagged the trifecta for $1 and another guy had a percentage of the first 4. Lucky aaaaaaas!!
