Guys the fantasy AFL game Ultimate Footy is back up and running for the second year, it is seriously the best dream-team type game you will play - i'm hoping we can get a league of 12 to play against each other this year.

basically there is a draft where we take turns in picking a player (or you can pre-set the order of players you want picked) and end up with a squad of 25, who then play against each other in category based scoring. that means that only one team can have ablett, cox, bartel etc.

you can also trade players with each other throughout the season which is a lot of fun.

i'm hoping sportz, rabbitz, goldmember and whoever else is interested sign up, it only takes up however much time you put into it

I play the Herald Sun Supercoach and have done for a few years, i have not seen this one you talk of around, but it looks very interesting.

At what stage are the drafts to take place?

I wouldn't mind having a go, but if you have 12 already lined up or expected thats cool.

That was a bit of fun, but you kept pinching the players I was looking at to choose next. :D

I don't know. Would have been nice to have more, but it could work out okay I reckon. After all, with only 4 people involved, it means we've each got VERY strong teams and we didn't have to pick a whole lot of people that we didn't really want.

Arrgh i completely forgot about the draft...

oh well, managed to get Cox, Pavlich and Riewoldt so not all bad :p

the teams you get with 4 participants are a aaaa of a lot better than the ones you get with 16 trust me haha

its going to be very tough picking a 22

No, sorry mate. Looks like everyone's got the same problem. You can sign one of the backs from all the hundreds of players not already chosen. That's what I've done.

It seems that backs do not score well in this game and that's why there aren't more of them up near the top of the rankings.

So who wants Nick Dal Santo? I can't fit him into my team, so he is up for trade

Wouldn't mind having him, but don't particularly want to swap him for anyone I've currently got.

Besides, he's already in my Supercoach team and doing a fine job. Don't want to put too much weight on his shoulders. ;)

After all the stats were done and dusted, it ends up a draw, hard to believe really.

Free kicks are killing me. I made wholesale changes to my team this week hoping to get some players who would actually end up on the right side of the umpire's whistle. And no good!

For the first 2 weeks, I have to admit I didn't really know much about how to play this game, because it's different to the Fantasy games I'm used to. But somehow I still managed to win.

Then by round 3, I started to get the hang of how you're supposed to pick your players with the different stats categories in mind. And I made wholesale changes to my team to try to bring in players who were more suited to the game. Well, ever since doing that, my team's performance has gone completely backwards.

So, I was actually doing far better in this comp when I had no idea what I was doing. :rolleyes:

yeah the game is very different to any other fantasy game i've played...


so, it seems you could use a boost in free kicks and accuracy....

how about Adam Selwood, Matthew Lloyd for Gibbs and Fevola?

can't believe that last week was the first time i've won the Score category, with a forward line that includes Pavlich, Riewoldt, Chapman and Johnson :eek:

The more I thought about it, and the more changes I made, the worse they went. Half of my team probably didn't even play on the weekend. I haven't looked at it for 2 weeks.
