Gold Coast Quaddie 2/1/10

I think someone stuffed up yesterday by putting the $96k jackpot on yesterdays quaddie....I can't see why they would have it on that and not the premier qld meeting of the week?

I'm going pretty wide cause the gold coast is notorious for throwing up big roughies this time of year, especially with a wet track. The quaddie paid $85k last year on this day with a heavy track.

I'm hoping the fav gets rolled in the first leg, and think with 61kg and the slow track + a bucketload of speed something could take it on. After that I am just praying! The gold coast hasnt been very good to me at this time of the year in the past....

L1 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7
L2 - 3, 4, 5, 6, 10, 15
L3 - 1, 6, 7, 13, 19, 21
L4 - 1, 2, 6, 8, 12

$200 = 15%

My attempt for what it is worth,,HW

L1 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 7
L2 - 2, 4, 5, 6, 13, 15
L3 - 1, 6, 7, 11, 12, 19, 21
L4 - 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12

$200 = 15.87%

You both had a small profit.

Horse Whisperer 2nd January 2010 08:04 PM

yeah a small profit this week.

15% = $227

Total outay now (5 weeks) = $1000
Return = $4623
Profit = $3623

Anyone know what happened with Currumbin Rock? Clearly it broke down but any idea how bad? Had a all up with Kisani, Spirit of Boom into it for a great collect and I was very confident when they straightened up.

I was at the track but yeh don't know how bad sorry. Luke Rolls dismounted fairly quickly but I'm pretty sure they were able to walk the horse off the track.

Not sure yet but probably not. Too many people

What's your thoughts about this weekends meeting?

Horse Whisperer 5th January 2010 06:55 AM

It's very early to tell ade, alot of nominations with a few dual nominated. If you have a look back at past Magic Millions race days there is always a few rough results. The quaddie last year paid $300,000+ and that was with the $1.90 favourrite winning the last leg! Although the way things are going 4 favourites will probably win....

If it starts and draws ok, have something on Fab Fevola in the Sprint. Resuming but trialled sensationally. Races are being broadcast by Ch 9 again.

Makybe Diva 5th January 2010 11:07 AM

HW, in relation to your Currumbin Rock query,

The horse faulted at the 50m mark and compounded badly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed Currumbin Rock bowed its off fore tendon.

Sadly, his trainer Les Kelly said the horse will not race again as he also wretched a fetlock. “It is not life-threatening but as a racehorse he is finished,” Kelly said.

Currumbin Rock wound up seventh as the $3.50 favourite after looking home when he struck the injuries.

Thanks MD, Iwas so confident 200m out, thought it was going to win like the first two had in my all up. I must say I've had alot of final legs fail in all ups and Quaddies, but never because they broke down.

Oh and regarding your tip on Fab Fevola, don't tell to many people mate, don't want it to start to short.

The TAB are being cheap scoundrels at the moment in that sprint. Don't mind one in the stayers race down there at long odds but I'll keep that one to myself.

Hi Guys ,

I was at the Coast aswell last Saturday , perfect amount of people i thought , next week will be crazy as the place struggles with the crowd.

Didnt even notice Currumbin rock break down as i was cheering for Uncle Jan but did notice them walking him of the course and he did look pretty bad. Shame as he had some future..

Had a good win on Red Sphere who looked like awesome in the enclosure , never seen him look so muscled..

Pay to follow Deer Valley who never got out of 1st gear ,,didn't even break a sweat....thought Tootsie Zynsky was excellent and is nice overs in next weeks race.
Albie (the fat) should be to good ,,just need a price ,,

A great day with some real nice fillies around to have a look at ;)

Great to see the excellent quaddie results ,,,real bummed i havent been around to capatilise , home soon though with a stack of video to catch up on..

You wouldn't want to sleep near Red Sphere. Geez he was noisy in the stalls. I'm gonna lay Albert the Fat. Classy horse but I reckon the 1000 is too short.
