darkydog2002 27th May 2012 07:54 PM

Thanks Vortech.
Never really used it myself.
I am just throwing a few systems in the mix as it is a system forum.
If anyone is interested in a particular system I,ve probably got it.
Let me know and I,ll post it if I have it.
I,ve got around 600 of them mostly commercial ones from PPM and Grandstand .Nothing in the past 18 months or so though.
Cheers

Here,s another one .I call it the "Nigel"

No More than 13 runners in the field

Selection is the fav if its weightedto carry 52,52.5,53 or 53.5 KG

A equal fav can be a selection provided that it fulfils rules 1 + 2 and the other fav does not.

As always have fun.

Vortech 28th May 2012 11:30 AM

Come on Barny,
Lets put differences aside and see if we can produce some profitable systems for everyone to enjoy.

I know many systems like these are not profitable as many were produced using backfiltering but I may be able to incorporate some different rating filters to get some winners.

jose 28th May 2012 04:42 PM

Well said Vortech.

Here's one thanks to UB's system tester:

Unitab Rating - 98 and under
1st Fav
Runners - 11 and under

There were 95933 horse form lines in the database at this point in time. We update when we get time.

There were 3550 selections for the System
There were 3503 races for the System
There were 1279 Winners for the System for a strike rate of 36.03%
There were $3836.82 returned for WIN (after 5% commission) which means a Profit or loss of $286.82 or a percentage profit/loss of 8.08%

Test Another System

The Rules used were : rating <= 98 and priceRank < 90 and priceRank = 1 and runners <= 11

----------------------------
And another:

1st Fav
Runners - 11 and under
Price $2.50 and over

There were 95933 horse form lines in the database at this point in time. We update when we get time.

There were 4907 selections for the System
There were 4807 races for the System
There were 1564 Winners for the System for a strike rate of 31.87%
There were $5199.08 returned for WIN (after 5% commission) which means a Profit or loss of $292.08 or a percentage profit/loss of 5.95%

Test Another System

The Rules used were : WinPrice >= 2.50 and priceRank < 90 and priceRank = 1 and runners <= 11
----------------------------
Maybe the favs have been winning a bit since August 2011:

Just 1st Fav

There were 95933 horse form lines in the database at this point in time. We update when we get time.

There were 9917 selections for the System
There were 9755 races for the System
There were 3419 Winners for the System for a strike rate of 34.48%
There were $10018.62 returned for WIN (after 5% commission) which means a Profit or loss of $101.62 or a percentage profit/loss of 1.02%
--------------------------
but ENJOY!!

darkydog2002 28th May 2012 06:37 PM

Thanks Ocho,
Most of the ones I post are from Bazza promising to turn $300 betting 3 % into $200,000 if I,d only impart a lousy $250.

Can UB,s do that.

Just start with your $9 (3% of $300), bet the first mentioned system, keep raising your stakes in line with 3% of your bankroll and, hey presto, you'll be at $200,000 in no time. ;)

darkydog2002 29th May 2012 07:08 AM

That reminds me of the "Million Dollar " system.

Horse must be 7/4 or lower,

Bet all up until you get to a million.

Fair dinkum.That were the Rules.

O.k Darky, here's a question for you. Have you got or heard of a system called, from memory so not 100% sure, the Crystal Ball?
I believe it's from your old mate Bazza from Corindi Beach, (I'm presuming that's whom you're referring to when you mention Bazza, maybe I'm wrong).

Anyway, from the blurb that I received years ago I believe it's got something to do with trainer angles. Not into systems per se but sometimes a certain angle gets the old grey matter ticking over in a direction that otherwise would have been overlooked.

Wondered if you had any idea how it panned out, or bombed out as the case may be?

Thanks, Peter

Hi Darky,
Just found the flyer I was sent, yes the system I was referring to is called The Crystal Ball " Free bonus system...brilliant... blah blah blah, like looking into the mind of the trainer...etc etc ...blah blah" .
Wondered if you, or anyone else for that matter had it or had any idea about it's performance. Not fishing for the rules or anything just wondered if you knew anything about it?

darkydog2002 9th June 2012 01:10 PM

Hi Peterm,
I havent seen that one.
I,ll ask around with my system contacts.

O.k, thanks darky

darkydog2002 10th June 2012 06:21 PM

Peter,

Google "Crystal Ball horseracing system.".
The rules are all on there.

peter m 10th June 2012 11:16 PM

Hi darky.
I did that and came upon an American website that seems to have bigger and more outlandish claims and hyperbole than Punter's Pal Monthly here. Couldn't find anything else.

The original system was from Grandstand Publishing and apparently came as a bonus system. The part I was interested in was that it had something to do with trainer moves apparently. Sounded like some of the ideas that the much maligned punter57 might have come up with.

I have been looking at the horses for quite a few years now but am only a neophyte, not an x spurt at all. That's why I only ask the occasional question and don't contribute much to the debates as I feel I don't have anything much to contribute given the wealth of knowledge that a lot of the other contributors have, I feel I'd only be telling people what they know already.

Thanks for taking the time to give me hand with that darky.

darkydog2002 11th June 2012 10:21 AM

Hi Peter,
The rules are on the UK punters forum.
If your thinking of that Australian mob dont waste your money.
If you do then you,ll see what I mean.

Cheers
darky

darkydog2002 11th June 2012 11:13 AM

Here you go Peter.

All Race Meetings

Look For the Shortest priced Fav at the meeting that is NOT odds on.

If there are 2 or more quoted at same price preference goes to the race with fewer runners

In that race bet the 2nd Fav .

Never use more that 6 meetings on any day

Staking

112234

Cheers and enjoy

peter m 11th June 2012 02:32 PM

Thanks for all that darky plus the warning. I've been through my system buying stage, as I'm sure many on here have. Bought my first one in 2000, the 'Dark Horse 2000' , subscribed to the magazine and bought a couple more systems.
Then I noticed that the articles in the magazine seemed to be just the same old stuff regurgitated although I will say that there were some interesting ideas and at least it was a good starting point.
I did buy one system from Grandstand, hence me still getting their flyers, The Double Duece but nothing since then.
I find I can acquire more knowledge by reading this forum. Luckily enough I suppose, I'm one of those guys that doesn't "have to have a bet" so am quite happy just studying and doing my own research.
I'm sure that mine is a familiar tale and that many here have been through the same stages but are just further down the road and the more knowledgeable ones are even making a quid at it.

Funnily enough a few years ago when the Horseman's Bookshop was still open in Sydney, amongst all the new and second hand books there was a big cardboard box on the floor full of old discarded 2nd hand systems, nearly all from a Popular Punting Magazine, the "Systems Graveyard" so to speak. Most of the systems that had sold for $100 plus could be had for between $5 to $15.

I'm sure there's a message there for all of us

darkydog2002 11th June 2012 02:48 PM

Hi Peter,
A few years ago a number of us used to swap systems with each other so a commercial system didnt cost us a zac.
It doesnt run now as most of us recognized that most were,nt worth a bumper.
However in amongst most of the fluff there was a gem or 2.
The one I found the best I still use with great results over many years.
Personally though I use the Don Scott ratings.
Many systems can be built around these ratings using Uselessbettors Data Base.

Cheers
darky

Doesn't take long to find a selection, as rarely is the bottom weight 53.5, yet alone the favourite.
