Bet Tornado for Betfair

Has anyone tried this i/pad app ????

Bhagwan 1st June 2012 09:28 AM

I'm not sure about the Tornado bit.

I hope that is not in reference to what it will do to your bank balance .

Whoosh - All gone.

evajb001 1st June 2012 09:41 AM

Haven't tried it syllabus, i've got the betfair app on my iphone and in my opinion it works better then the actual betfair site.

Quick question Bhagwan, do you still use BetBotPro? Was reading a thread last night where you and Ocho were talking about your bots and you said you used it. I dont have a big bankroll so i've been looking at BetBotPro and BetSender as they are once off low payment options that seem to have enough flexibility and functions for me to play with. I particularly like that BetSender can import selections from CSV, can BetBotPro do this?

Anyway sorry to hijack the thread, can discuss further via email if you wish Bhagwan?

syllabus23 1st June 2012 10:43 AM

Eva don't worry about hijacking the thread, because you wern't.One line of thought tends to lead to another.

As far as the app goes I have only just purchased mine and at $14 you get a lot of bang for your buck (as the saying goes)

The same product is available for i/phone.

Cheers Bill.

mattio 1st June 2012 11:48 AM

I haven't seen the app either, what does it do?

evajb001 1st June 2012 12:01 PM

I searched for it on my phone, no dice. Think it may only be available in ipad?

syllabus23 1st June 2012 01:59 PM

Yup,,Sorry Eva,,just i/pad

Mattio,,It beats as it sweeps as it cleans :) It's just another betting station except there are a lot of frills.

Cheers Bill

You didn't ask but I'd always choose BFBot Manager v2 over BetBotPro. After using it for a while the later is a bit "Mickey Mouse" IMHO. BFBot Manager is far better behaved and support response is much better. I've had it running since before December virtually trouble free, 24/7 on a couple of VM's in Ireland.

The Ocho 1st June 2012 03:33 PM

evajb001, I believe you can import selections from CSV on BF Bot Manager v2 but I have never used it. You can have a look at the user manual from their site before trialing it and see if it suits.

The manual can be found on this page:

http://www.bfbotmanager.com/cgi-bin/bots.pl

I have nothing to do with them but I do use versions 1 and 2. v2 is better as you can bet on multiple horses at the same time.

Hi AngryPixie. I may have asked this before but do you know of any free or low priced VPN or VM's or whatever they're called?

evajb001 1st June 2012 04:22 PM

Just basically read through the whole thing, seems very comprehensive. Thinking I might have to give it a trial and see if I can come up with anything interesting or if I like it within the trial period.

I work in the finance industry so this form of controlled automated betting and understanding what your possible outcomes are before you even bet is very appealing to me.

I'm still a bit unsure of what the potential/possibilities are but i'm very keen to explore and find something that works for me. Particularly like the idea of mixing staking plans with trailing stops, ceasing on max profit for the day etc etc. Obviously this is all tweaking around the edges and you need to find a basis for your selections/bot in the first place but i love the control that these programs can give you.

I couldn't find anything about an import feature in the manual but everything else i've read makes it more appealing anyway. Cheers.

Hi evajb001,

Near the top of that page there is an option to look at the "General Options Manual". As I said previously, I have no idea how this works. If you have any problems you can email Rade there and he is normally very helpful. This is what it says for the Import function (there is also a screen shot of the option):

4.5 Import
Import functionality can be used to import selections that were saved by using “Export My Favorites – Fav” context menu item or for importing CSV file that was generated by tipster service or some other prediction software.
All runners that are loaded from import file will be searched within existing loaded markets and if they are found then “Fav.” checkbox at “Selections Form” will be ticked making them as user favorites. Their names will be displayed in “1st Favorite” column in grid and colored in red.
Import file can contain multiple selections per market and on Image 16 we can see details about import file format. Selections are searched by market start time and their name, so it is important that those details are accurate.

Hi Eva,
I do use BetBotPro for placing our selections, which are done manually.

BFManager is the stronger bot of the two & they cost about the same.
It can do a number of extra things, like, only laying the 3rd Fav if its price blows 20%+ in the market.

Another is The Bet Engine.

There is a Free Bot available called BetSoftPro .

These are all bet placement tools, so you dont have to sit in front of the screen all day.

There is a manual bet placement tool called Jet Bet (Free)
Its interface is a lot easier & quicker to use than Betfairs interface.

There is a site that specialises in discussing all types of Bots on the market called Bot4Us

If you want a Hosting service to run your Bot 24/7 instead of using the resources of your own computer ,then the most cost effective one to use for this application is ...
VPS MyHosting.com

Bhagwan, i've had a look at the ones you listed etc. I'm still tossing up between BetBotPro and BF Bot Manager. There are two issues im stuck on that are holding me back from each one. BetBotPro has the ability to have multiple instances open, but BF Bot Manager has the ability to back or lay depending on price movements.

My issue lies in that it seems BetBotPro cannot do the price movement bets/lays and that the Bot Manager can only run multiple instances if you pay for the additional add-on which has monthly subscription fees.

Bhagwan, does BetBotPro have the ability to bet based on price movements? If so it would probably be my choice, if not I might just go with Bot Manager i think.

Cheers

Ocho

I don't know of any free virtual machine services and depending on what you want the price varies alot. I use Amazon Web Services EC2 (http://aws.amazon.com/) primarily because I use their VM's professionally. I'm currently running two Win2008R2 VM's and each costs me about 67 cents a day.

Thanks AngryPixie
