Testing an Each-Way Method.
I have been betting a system for about a week and its doing very well. However, my problem with betting as opposed to laying, is that I quickly lose interest.
If this method is successful I will most likely continue with it, or even reveal the simple rules privately. Two selections today: Belmont 4/4 5/2 |
Yesterday was a disappointing day. There were no winners but one placegetter which paid $1.30.
Three selections today: Kilmore 8/5 Northam 6/2 Rocky 6/3 |
I have been betting this system with success but I've slightly altered the rules. I'll see how it goes today...
Caulfield 4/1 Cowra 6/2 Tatura 10/5 Gold Coast 4/3 Broome 1/1 5/2 6/4 Toowoomba 5/3 Dombeen 3/1 4/5 6/12 7/3 8/8 |
Not a bad result for the first day of the amended method.
From the 13 selections there were 8 winners for a NSW TAB profit of $11.50 but 9 placegetters for a loss of $0.20. Interestingly it got the Dombeen quaddie of $139. |
Well Done, cleaned up at Doomben.
|
Yes, well done, but for the Doomben quaddie you don't have race 5 down on your tips.
|
Thanks, Ocho. I noticed it this a.m. and was going to mention it when I posted today's selections but you beat me to the punch. The Dombeen winners were races 4, 6, 7, and 8.
I also listed Caulfield R4 no.1 but was in two minds whether to include it or not because it was resuming from a spell. There were no resumers since betting began for the method so I decided to take the risk by including it - unfortunately it was unplaced. Today's selections are: Hobart 4/4 5/2 6/2 Taree 3/7 4/1 Narromine 4/6 Kalgoorlie 2/1 (providing there are no scratchings) Geraldton 4/2 (providing there are no scratchings) 6/1 (providing there is a minimum of 8 runners) There would be another selection but because it is resuming from a spell I will omit it. As a matter of interest it is: Hobart 8/4 |
From today's 8 selections there were 4 winners for a profit of $1.70, and 5 placegetters for a loss of $1.70. The method broke-even on the day.
For the second successive day I was in two minds about a selection. Taree R4 no.1 resumed from a spell at its previous start and I was undecided if to include it today as a selection. Unfortunately I did, and it was unplaced so from now it becomes a filter. As a matter of interest I'm looking at another method, a Place method, and it's also a filter in this method. There were 2 of these selections today and fortunately (especially for my TAB account) I did not bet them - they were both unplaced. |
One selection today:
Goulburn 1/1 |
Today's sole selection won paying $2.00 and $1.10.
Since posting the selections here from last Saturday there have been 13 winners from the 22 selections for a NSW TAB profit of $14.20 (a POT of 64%) but 15 placegetters from the 22 selections for a loss of $2.00. However these results include 2 unplaced selections which updated filters would now eliminate them. So far so good...at least it keeps me interested in the system. |
hehe wd
|
Two selections today:
Townsville 6/3 7/2 |
Not the best of days. From the two selections one of them won paying $1.70 and $1.04, the other selection ran fourth.
|
One selection today:
Sandown 2/2 |
Today's selection ran second paying $1.30.
|
Four selections today:
Werribee 7/2 Rocky 1/2 2/2 4/1 |
From today's four selections there were two winners for a return of $6.90 but $3.40 for the place.
|
One selection today:
Alice Springs 3/1 |
Today's selection was unplaced.
The win component is still doing very well. There's been 16 winners from 30 selections for a profit of $14.80. |
Today's selections are (I'm betting them for Win only):
Warwick Farm 1/2 Moonee Valley 3/2 Dombeen 1/2 Morphetville 8/8 Armidale 3/1 5/1 Pakenham 4/1 Gold Coast 6/1 Townsville 3/4 Toowoomba 1/2 2/5 4/1 |
I'm changing the method and tightening it as it has been doing okay since I began betting on it.
Today's selections are: Devenport 3/2 4/7 Gosford 3/8 Seymour 2/1 |
From the four selections there were two winners for a return of $5.70 and $2.70 for the place.
|
Two selections today:
W'bool 2/1 5/5 |
Are there any theories behind the rules or is their just selections?
|
Vortech, to answer your query the rules are:
1) 60-plus points on the CF neural algorithym (on a setting of 3) 2) Top Unitab ranking. 3) Not won its last two starts. Yesterday there was a third selection - W'bool R1 no.1. I omitted it because there were only 4 starters which meant there was no Place betting - it won paying $2.10, fortunately I backed it. I've listed the rules because someone might improve it or even look at something else. No selections today. |
Nice Work.
I like the rules Do you manually need to pick up the selections each day? |
Yes, I do everything manually, even identifying the selections in my Lay Outsiders method.
I also looked at a similar Bet method using the CP and TIM algorithyms and also a combination of them but from what I can so far see it looks like CF beats them all. |

It almost appears that the Unitab rating is the same at the FR on the Don Scott Worksheet. My concern with the Unitab rating and the FR on Don Scott is when the track condition changes. The scores are then not reflective of the change. i too like the neurals and base it on the factors that punters often turn a blind eye. Some nice value. If you create an account with R&S and make a customised form guide it normally saves the settings. |
Three selections today:
Belmont 1/2 Murray Bridge 4/3 Sandown 1/1 |
RACE No.1 Value Plan
This has been pulling a number of good priced winners of late.
RULES Target First race of the day for each venue. Working from TAB No.1 downwards in list of TAB Nos. bet the first Horse we come to in the live market priced between 7.00-14.00. Near jump time. Must be $7.00-14.00 in live market. That's it. Some days there are No winners , other days there will be several winners.. By only doing one race per venue , it helps control the volume of bets. It adds up to quite a few bets by the end of the week, if betting every day. STAKING Bet 150th of bank - Level stakes. Readjust size of bet ,up or down , when 20% of bank, is either won or lost. |

What relevance does this have to the original topic posted by michaelg? Regards |
And where is the logic, might as well throw darts at a board and back the number you hit.
|
There was on winner from yesterday's three selections paying $1.20 and two placegetters paying $2.60.
Two selections today: Hawera (in the testing period there was one N.Z. selection - it won.) 7/11 Northam 4/9. I've also been testing another method that shows promise. On the 12 months column in the R & S worksheet there must be a gap of a minimum of 5 points between the top and the second-ranked selection, and must have placed at its last start. There has been 5 selections for 2 winners and 5 placegetters, so out of interest I'll give it a go. Mornington 8/6 Northam 7/6. |
From the two selections there was one winner of $4.00 and $1.80 for the Place.
For the 12 months method there were no winners but one placegetter paying $4.30. |
I'm combining the two methods as it is more convenient for me to record them together.
Yesterday from the four selections there was one winner of $4.00 and two placegetters paying $6.10. One selection today: Gold Coast 4/1 |
It appears that I pressed a wrong button somewhere .
That posting was not meant for this thread. My balls up. |
With the 12m selections, what happens with horses coming back from a spell.
I noticed 2 at Kilmore for today in Races 2 and 6 Pete |
Hi, Pete,
I have already lost interest in the method because of my current focus now being on the laying outsiders method. But to answer your query I would delete them from the method even though the Bendigo R2 selection placed and the R6 selection was scratched. Maybe I might one day take a further look at it. |
