Testing
I've been looking at a Place method over the past three days but unfortunately there is not much action.
1) Must be the outright top pointer in the CP and D neural categories, 2) The race must have a maximum of 11 runners. Over the three days the results are: Monday - 1 selection for one placegetter for a profit of $0.50. Tuesday - 3 selections for two placegetters for a loss of $0.70 Wednesday - 5 selections for four placegetters for a profit of $2.50. This is seven placegetters from nine selections for a profit of $2.30. I know this is a miniscule example but there were three selections that were top in the D category but only equal top in the CP category - they were all placed. There are no selections today, but there are two that are top in the D category but only equal top in CP. They are: Bunbury 4/9 Sale 4/4 |
Both horses placed for a return of $4.60.
|
Two selections toda:
Ipswich 1/6 Stawell 1/6 Two selections where "D" has top points with equal top points in CP. Cranbourne 5/4 8/5 |
So Michaelg, do you back them for a place even if there are less than 8 runners?
|
T.O.
Yes, but at the moment there have been too few samples to confidently answer your query. However yesterday's $3.00 placegetter was in a NTD race. The two selections today placed for a total return of $3.10, one was in a NTD race. The other two selections (top D and equal top CP neural categories) have yet to run. So far so good... |
A few selections today:
Ascot 1/1 Eagle Farm 1/1 Eagle Farm 3/1 Flemington 3/1 Kembla 7/2 Rosehill 2/1 Gold Coast 1/1 Camperdown 5/2 Top "D" and equal top CP Eagle Farm 5/8 Flemington 2/1 Kembla 2/2 |
From the 8 selections there were 6 placegetters for a return of $10.80.
And from the 3 selections that had equal points in CP there was one placegetter for a return of $4.50 |
I'm no longer including those selections that are equal-top in the CP even though it's in profit. So from today the selection has got to have outright top points in both neural categories.
Today's selections: Hobart 1/1 3/4 8/2 Ballarat 1/4 7/4 Pakenham 3/12 Sun Coast 7/4 Ballina 2/7 Mt Gambier 5/4 |
There were 6 placegetters from the 9 selections for a return of $10.30.
Since posting the selections here last Friday there have been 14 placegetters from 19 selections for a return of $24.20. |
Another simple strategy, effective too.
Begs the question.. a lay strategy around these 2 settings or have you thought of this already?? Cheers LG |
Hi, L.G.
No, I haven't thought about Laying using these two settings. I spend a lot of time identifying the selections and also the Lay D.Scott Outsiders selections. I'm also looking at a Lay the Field method where I can put the bets on early in the day, which so far has been successful. I've got a lot on my plate at the moment and am sometimes rushed but it's a worthwhile suggestion and I think its got merit. I won't forget it and one day expect to give it a test especially if it continues to perform. |
I never did understand how on earth you are so prolific with new ideas and at the same time having the patience to test, record, modify, place the bets etc
Keep this up and you may even require a scribe? Long may it continue, my pattern spotting pal! Cheers LG |
Thanks L.G. for the encouragement.
Today's selections: Bathurst 2/2 3/3 Moruya 6/3 7/5 |
A terrible day. from the four selections there was only one placegetter for a loss of $2.70.
After four days there have been 15 placegetters from 23 selections for a profit of $3.50. |
That's the last time I'm offering any encouragement !
LG PS story on master blaster in the paper today Here |
I just want to tell you both good luck. We're all counting on you.
|
L.G. - encouragement is always welcome, never stop.
Great story about the one and only true Master Blaster. And the best cuisine, forget about any Master Chef pretender or Five Star Chef, comes from Trinidad. T.O. - thanks, that's a classic and always will be. |
"Anyone who stands up and can be counted defending their beliefs, regardless of whatever colour, creed or race -- defending humanity, that's what it's all about -- and anyone who does that, I can always be in their corner.
"And I won't be afraid to be there, at all." Great words and much more than a champion sportsman or a real spectacle to witness in a steamy day-night match at the 'G back in the 80s. A great man. LG |
Yes, very strong and inspiring words, L.G. Could easily be credited to one of the great leaders of any era.
Today's selections: Port Mac 1/7 Townsville 1/1 2/7 5/2 |
The four selections placed for a profit of $1.00.
There have now been 19 placegetters from 27 selections (a strike rate of 70%) for a profit of $4.50 (a POT of 16%). |
Today's selections:
Ascot 1/3 Dombeen 3/8 4/11 5/6 Launceston 7/5 8/1 Ballarat 2/1 3/9 |
