This time around, no walking events in athletics, synchronised swimming or Greco-Roman wrestling We normally do okay in the walking but not much success in the other two sports (from memory) |
..what! no synchronised swimming!

But they have added triathlon mixed relay & women's boxing to the program |
A bit surprised to see women's boxing added
|
Women's Boxing was added to the 2012 Summer Olympics
Was well received Adding to the Commonwealth Games looks a natural progression |
Na, wasn't aware of that, shows you how observant I am :)
|
Sally Pearson would have to be a strong Gold hope. Ran 2nd in March this year, World Indoor Championships, 60 metres hurdles, so still has it.

Sally has been appointed athletics team captain Reported to be champing at the bit & just a little excited |
Yeah good news for Sally.
Pre-selected in the 100m hurdles. Also likely to run the 100m flat where she would come up against multiple Olympic and world sprint champion Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce from Jamaica. |
we should pick up medals in the field hockey
our men currently rated no. 1 in the world our women currently rated no. 2 in the world |
Looking forward to the Triathlon. Alistair & Jonny Brownlee (ENG), Richard Murray (RSA) will make hard for our guys, Ryan Bailie & Aaron Royal.
Whilst our ladies, Emma Moffatt & Emma Jackson will have to contend with Helen Jenkins (Wales) & Jodie Stimpson (ENG). Should be very competitive. |

Reported that Sally is a possible starter in the 4x100m as well Won't decide until just before the events 100m hurdles her main aim No surprise there |
Sally has been struggling with a hamstring injury in recent weeks, so I would imagine she will be happy just getting through the hurdles
