how much can I make

ok, how much can I make from betting ?

what are your bookies accepting per month profits ?

Are you making 10% or 30% POT per month or per year ?

Why I'm asking is because I'm going to be a big punter stake wise and my SR is very high and I don't want to lose my accounts due to closures and bans because I may be doing too well

Can i make 10% per month POT and still keep my bookies ?

experienced punters only please

Chrome Prince 15th February 2015 10:24 AM

Firehorse, if your stakes are high and you have a high strike rate there is no bookie that I know of that will let you on for more than a short period of time if you are a successful punter.
My best suggestion is to open multiple accounts at once, and spread your bets amongst them for as long as you can.
My personal POT is very small with high turnover.
Your only other options as I see it, are to go to the track(s) or use Betfair.
I have had all my accounts closed or limited in such a way that they are useless anyway.
I use Betfair exclusively now.

firehorse 15th February 2015 01:56 PM

ok then , thanks

firehorse 15th February 2015 02:25 PM

I've got the multi accounts set up but even so

I hope Betfair really is power to the punter, like the bloke in the ad says

firehorse 15th February 2015 04:29 PM

Actually just wondering where did you get the name of Chrome Prince ?

Chrome Prince 15th February 2015 08:29 PM

After the name of my racehorse sired by Coal King.
I got him after he finished racing at the picnic races and owned him in 1982 until his death. Was the best horse I ever owned :(

How come you are so confident about what you're going to do.
the punting world is littered with glorious plans of glittering gold and infinite wealth that turned into sadness and rubbish

Sounds to me you've been engaged yourself or some one has engaged you in a bit of data back-fitting.

If you have a high SR and you plan on making around 10% POT you must be backing shorties.

"a data backfitters paradise"
any how gold luck.

personally if anything i've said above is correct i would start small and try to build up.

You can get the same return in the same game without needing to be on your game. Leave your seat and go sit on the other side of the table Darky.

Cheers LG

Couldn't agree more.
Sure you can win big on a particular day or series of days but through the thick and thin that range is the benchmark.
Never met or heard of anyone serious and credible who does better

mattio 24th February 2015 07:28 PM

Just because you haven't met them doesn't mean they don't exist.

i've met 'em Ok - on forums 24/7.

What i said was " Never met or heard of anyone serious and credible who does better"

There was a person on one forum somewhere who claimed was using arbitrage techniques which meant losing on BF and winning 10's of $$thousands per week from corporate bookmakers - and never faced any restrictions - and ( here's the killer) said it all with a straight face.

anyhow each to there own.

LOL I remembers it well!

I can be up 200% one day but end of year?
No chance, no way, not possible.

Mark 24th February 2015 10:13 PM

I guess it comes down to how your work your numbers. I make 2-3% on turnover year in year out, BUT if I calculated my overall % profit on actual risks taken, it would be around 100%.
Today as an example, a very slow quiet day, I made an ok 3.32% POT, yet profit on risk (if every race was won by my worst result) was a huge 236%, as I had many races where I had no risk at all..

understand.
well really when you think about it - it gets down to P - not POT or PO risk or P on anything.

all you can eat is P

Mark 25th February 2015 05:29 PM

Agreed.

3.5% or 604% profit today.

I wasn't referring to fantasy like this, I am referring to the guys that you never hear about. I am fortunate enough to know someone who has consistently made over 15% POT for the past 4 years between Australian and Hong Kong racing so like I said they do exist.

well if i never hear about them .....how can i say that i know of them ????
even worse how could i say i've met them.

my view is that most serious punters are very secretive .
silent about their wins and silent about their losses.

any how off we go.

cheers
