Getting the best price

Hi all
I've noticed in recent times and it's possibly been going on for quite some time, that the favourite in early markets drifts quite often and I'd be better off using the best of three totes with starting price option. I use Bet365 and it was really good when they had the above option combined with the fixed price offer. That has changed and we don't get the lot combined to give us the best. The other problem recently is we don't get the official bookmakers starting price on a Sunday with most country and provincial tracks.
Back to the drifting favourite price yesterday, four of my eight early price favs drifted quite a lot.
Flem R5 $4.00 to $5.60
Rand R6 $3.40 to $$6.20 (lose)
Flem R7 $2.35 to $3.40
Morp R8 $2.40 to $4.40
That makes a hell of a difference to the bottom line and I'm now going to use the best of three totes/Sp from here on I think.
What have others found and consider the best for returns.

I use betfair as I can get set and not worried about being banned from a bookie. My turnover flags me straight away and there is no reason for me to even try with the bookies anymore.

If you are able to get the best price offered you have won half the battle and should win long term with a winning selection process but in the end if your successful then your going to be down to a limited few options which are tote or betfair (and some very rare bookies that are almost as rare as unicorns).

Best Of Three Or S/P pays the best dividend 73%,
Of the time last time I looked or close to it.

It is by far the best product you can get.

It is not just on drifting favourites.

Now that's one problem fixed.

Now try getting on when you are a winner.

To my knowledge the second best product is B/FAIR S/P,
I stand corrected if that is second best but I think it is.

So for me second best is the only option.

Was thinking about this a few weeks ago,
When I made the move over where would I go,
If Betfair ever collapsed "HEAVEN FORBID"

Easy BET ON THE TOTE yeah right what happens if you are not,
Making above the 18% takeout.???.

Cheers.
Garyf.

Thanks UB and garyf
I thought someone would come up with figures to verify what I was suspecting.
I've never looked at joining Betfair having considered it more a Layers market in the past which I've never been interested in. looks like I might have to consider it but for now I'll stick to the best of three totes/Sp.

I should expand on that last statement from me. I do realize that for Layers there has also to be some Backers to make it all work but it just wasn't for me.

There is a better one on Sat metro racing which is BOB. Best of top fluc and totes. Available on Luxbet that I know of.

Seems to me you walked past a 'gold mine' without even seeing it? If the phenomenon of drifting faves is more an established occurrence than a guess, then you could trade these on Betfair for a nice risk free profit, whether they win or lose! Lay low, Back high.

That's an even better one then.

My analysis was done on the other option,
As the majority of corporates bet it & seven days a week,
All thoroughbred racing.

Unfortunately this one is Saturday Metro Only.

Doubt if it would alter the figures that much.

Not sure if all corporates offer this product,
Or only a few?.

If you can get that at Luxbet Saturday,
Then the other one the rest of the time you are made.

Only one problem.

Make sure your selection(s) are constant losers,
Or you will get none of the above.

Cheers.
Garyf.

I'm pretty sure that other corps do offer Best of Best, but not all

SpeedyBen 10th August 2015 03:14 PM

If Betfair ever collapsed "HEAVEN FORBID"

I agree wholeheartedly with that Gary.
The other plus is that there are many bots written for BF, which takes a lot of the work out of it, if your method can be programmed.

Gary
I have been using MaketFeederPro and it is sensational in what it can do. If you are going down the bot road pick up a free trial.
