Going for 3E’s to finish 1,2,3.
EXCELLERATOR – The winner of last years race, back to form on the weekend. Seems very well weighted to me, and can make it back-to-back wins. Currently 10/1 NSWTAB fixed odds. EVANDER – Ran 4th in this race last year and like EXCELLERATOR also seems well weighted. Doesn’t win too many but capable of filling a place at least. Currently 66/1 NSWTAB fixed odds. EMISSION - Another who doesn’t win many, but did win this year’s Group 3 BTC Sprint. Has run some good races over the 1600m, and could surprise at good odds. Currently 33/1 NSWTAB fixed odds. Finally, watch out for the NZ mare – CONQUISTAR, is she starts. This mare has won both G2 & G3 races over 1600m back in NZ. Currently 25/1 NSWTAB fixed odds. |
Hello Paddy,
Do you know who is qual/starting/needs to qual. this week or where I can find the info. What about Gordo's chances? Cheers |
I rate Gordo a good chance boxhead, and he could easily improve on his 3rd last year.

i backed excellerator last year, but don't rate him this time.
Besides Thorn Park, I will be putting some money on: Clangalang and Boreale |

Gday all
my ratings have Grand Armee on top.. but I ain't convinced yet. I would want about $4 to back him.. I don't know that we would get that.. so bearing that in mind I am looking away from Grand Armee and will have a lil each way on Forum Floozie.. 49.5 kg is a real luxury weight |
i like Zabarra e/w - an improver, and i'm gonna have a little on Stoway, well weighted on his best ratings.
Grand Armee is the best horse in the race, but simply because it's a hcp he's no good thing. Thorn Park is in the same class, but he's a sprinter. Stepping up from 1100m to a mile? |
I am staying away from the fancied runners who in my eyes all have a disadvantage, Excellerator i think is racing like he wants it longer then 1600m now, Grand Armee is totally overrated (I'll eat my words if it wins!!), Clangalang has had a setback, Thorn Park won't get 1600m especially from barrier 18 and probably will be ridden from the tail.
In saying that i think (11) Zabarra will win, likes the track, distance and has the inside barrier, I think he is a classic Randwick miler. (20) Forum Floozie for 2nd, light weight, will be around midfield and at peak fitness. (12) Stoway for 3rd, Likes the track and has a nice barrier and light weight for a change. Longshot, the bridesmaid (16) Britt's Best. Cheers. |
for mine I'll have zabarra,amex,nip's,boreale
Good luck everyone! |
Congrats umrum, top effort!
