Big price difference between DELZAO and BRAELOCH considering the latter finished in front in the Aust Derby.

i think delzao seems like a great bet as current - but i do like the look of special harmony

This is where I really like Braeloch a front runner at Caulfield. I think he just might be good enough to win without any bias at all but that short Caulfield straight is going to help alot. 30-1 looks a solid price there and weight wise he won't be treated to harshly I wouldn't think.

Lets not forget the Huge run by Hugs Dancer ...Mcevoy on the job now and could be improved.

Always a good race for 4yo mares,so my early bets have gone on Special Harmony,Vouvray,Wild Iris and Sound Action,all at good odds.
Have coupled these with Hugs Dancer and Maykbe Diva in early doubles.Heres hoping!

Braeloch has only run one good (spectacular) race when he was left alone in the lead and he did beat delzao that day. however i think there will be alot more pressure on the lead this year (considering Mummify's performance last year). Delzao has proven he is a class horse and at 16/1 looks great each-way value. I wasn't at the time but i am happy now lohnro nosed him out in the Australia Cup as he should get a nice coushy weight as he still is only a listed race winner.

No one has mentioned Wild Iris in their thoughts here. Her win in The Sydney Oaks was unbelievable. I know that faves in early markets dont win often in CAU/ MELB CUPS as something always seems to go wrong but this horse may be as good as the other uprising star, STARCRAFT. His winner slipper day was so exciting , and iv'e never seen a horse pick up other good horses so quickly. If he has improved at all he is probly the best horse in Australia.
I think all of Mr Ed's comments regarding the cox plate and BRAELOCH make a lot of sense. Also Sound Action looks value at $26

agree with most of that Umrun ..except for Aint Seen Nothin who i think did enormous last spring after a long campaign..
Grey Song if he gets conditions to suit could be a chance,,He seems as though he's been around for years but i think hes only 6 now...one year older than Makybe Diva and Aint seen Nothin..
He ran a huge Caulfield last year ...and was on the 2nd or 3rd line in the melb Cup..

I have a soft spot for him because he's always there about and gives 200% in his races..

Of the males think Elvstroem is a chance & dont envisage getting anywhere near $18 on the day,so am backing it now.Was a costly horse for me last time in so it owes me.Was a good run first up,so I'm kinda hoping it's come up this time in with a bit of maturity on it's side.
Mugpunta,I mentioned Wild Iris in my previous post about 4yo mares record in this race,didn't you see it?
As for Special Harmony not running 2400 can't agree.Didn't she win the VRC Oaks over that trip in a canter?I still believe she would have won the Oaks in Sydney,why Lee decided to take on the males in the Derby still astounds me!She is a better proposition in Melbourne to me,and racing the males in the Caulfield Cup is a much better go than it was in the Derby.My thoughts only.

Don't Zagalia and Wild Iris look well prepared for the cups after their great runs yesterday!

I cant believe people are serious, tipping Delzao and Elvstroem, Delzao is a good miler,thats all, while Elvstroem cant stay and is the biggest CAT,meow..meow.. i have seen in years,if i was a bookie i would lay them both all day long.

Stupid question, probably, but is this seriously the size of the initial cox plate lineup? It starts with around 300 that get eliminated or something? I thought I heard there's only 8 runners or something this year, and so far, doesn't seem as though Starcraft is one of them? Please tell me this is not true!
