Hopefully not too many join in Rabbitz.
I mean, with only 3 starters last week, and you still got the results wrong,I shudder to think what a mess the result sheet would look like if 40 people were in it.

Holy moly Nulla.
Some people sat up for hours and never done as good as you.
That must have been 10 minutes of quality time.
And Shaun. Can see you didn't spend 10 minutes on your selections.Maybe 10 seconds.

sportznut 21st October 2004 09:44 PM

Still worked though didn't it? I know very little about the dogs, but I was thinking of entering the comp and simply picking boxes 1 & 8 in the first 5 races at Albion Park. I've just had a look at the results and wished I had.

Shaun 21st October 2004 10:03 PM

I know nothing about dog form...but i know numbers and i know what the best value boxes will be....i would have started in race 1 but got on late

moeee 21st October 2004 10:09 PM

Don't check results, but by the response it must have worked.
Gives you a ******** feeling though when you work plenty and get little and another works little and gets plenty!
Makes one wonder how clever one really is compared to how clever one thinks one is.

rabbitz 22nd October 2004 06:23 AM

Some pretty poor tipping apart from Nulla and Shaun,(cant believe RETURN THE KING paid $2.30!!!)Anyway standings are as follows
SHAUN +$97.00
NULLA +$74.00
MAV1993 +$24.00
MOEEE -$4
CHUCK3000 -$14.00
GOOD4TH -$22.00
RABBITZ -$27.00
BLD4DEZ -$50.00
Cheers
P.s. Bld4dez,in future can you say where and what race your dogs are running.

Merriguy 22nd October 2004 12:12 PM

Shaun, am I right in presuming that you just pick the appropriate boxes for each track?

Certainly seems to have worked if that is so. Congrats.

Shaun 22nd October 2004 08:15 PM

I have found that 4/5 win a few races at each track and most times pay a nice price....there is no secret...i will be backing boxes 4/5 in NSW greys on a thursday night in the first 5 races...like i said i started late this week but as from next week it will be race 1 to 5 box 4/5 for $5 lets see if i can win with just numbers

moeee 22nd October 2004 09:26 PM

If this comp runs till Xmas and you beat me home Shaun, then I'm a monkey's uncle.
The best you can do is lose 20%.Which is about -$100 come Boxing Day.
Gotta admit you started well but!

Merriguy 24th October 2004 11:51 AM

Thanks for your response, Shaun....have been a little out of touch with the forum.

woof43 24th October 2004 01:05 PM

Currently if you invested on every Box 4 at the greyhounds this year you would have a POT of 34%, investing on Box 5 is LOT -53%, if shaun changed to Box 6 instead of 5 his outlook would be brighter.

moeee 24th October 2004 04:39 PM

If you say it's true Woofa, then it must be true.
But I have much trouble believing there is that much difference in percentages of two boxes that are probably even in their disadvantage to the greyhound.
How many races in your sample there Woofer?

woof43 24th October 2004 04:58 PM

Hi Moe,
Its approx. 1900 races year to date.

It must be known that the 4 & 6 boxes are vacant in some races or one or the other an when this occurs the 5 box is or the box .drawn to the outside of the vacant box is substantially overbet, this causes the discrepancy

nulla 28th October 2004 05:52 PM
