Anyone know anything about Stepanek v Hanescu?

sportznut 3rd November 2004 07:40 PM

They both have slightly unusual names.

knowledge 3rd November 2004 07:48 PM

Stepanek will win and I am very sure of this.

I'm backing him heavily.

Also I like the look of Lopez.

thebookie 3rd November 2004 07:55 PM

I've heard the same thing about Stepanek...

thebookie 3rd November 2004 08:33 PM

Go Stepanek!

thebookie 3rd November 2004 08:35 PM

********!!! I just found out that Stepanek twisted his ankle yesterday! ********!!!

knowledge 3rd November 2004 08:38 PM

that happened in the 1st set, which he won, he then went onto win the 2nd set 6-1. no big deal. He will be fine. But my bookmaker doesn't refund if he retires, so.. he better not.

thebookie 3rd November 2004 08:40 PM

ohh well, I might not know anything about the basketball and get stooged at the tennis, but, at least it's still raining at the cricket!!!

Go RAIN Go RAIN Go RAIN!!!!

knowledge 3rd November 2004 08:48 PM

Stepanek just broke.

that really eases the nerves.

thebookie 3rd November 2004 08:48 PM

1-0 Stepanek

Let's go the early crow!!! HAHAHA

thebookie 3rd November 2004 08:49 PM

thebookie 3rd November 2004 09:09 PM

Serving for the set

tank tank tank

thebookie 3rd November 2004 09:13 PM

6-4

thebookie 3rd November 2004 09:18 PM

breaks again!!!

tank tank tank

knowledge 3rd November 2004 09:21 PM

What's tank tank tank mean?

It's in the bag. Easy win for Stepanek. Now who to bet on?

sportznut 3rd November 2004 09:26 PM

Well, I thought 'tank' meant to give up and not even try, therefore losing the match. I couldn't work out why you bet on a guy, then wanted him to stop trying!!! :???:

thebookie 3rd November 2004 09:26 PM

"tank" means to throw the game...

It's what Hanescu is doing-giving up, not trying...

thebookie 3rd November 2004 09:31 PM

We must have typed that at the same time!

I bet on Stepanek cos I heard Hanescu would tank the game...

I thought knowledge had heard the same thing...

4-1 Stepanek

thebookie 3rd November 2004 09:38 PM

All over. Good work.

knowledge 4th November 2004 07:14 PM

Canas good value tonight to beat Haas. h2h is 3-1.

knowledge 4th November 2004 10:05 PM

well Canas is as good as home.

i suggest betting on Youzhny to beat Henman. Henman has a shoulder injury and Youzhny is in good form.

Northerly 4th November 2004 10:30 PM

well I'll go with you on that Knowledge.
Not that I know much about the form for tennis but it sounds like good value @ $2.74 on BF

Northerly 4th November 2004 10:37 PM

:???: Knowledge you've done it again.
Tipped Henman on one thread then tipped Youzhny on another 30 minutes later.
I'll stick with the latter, as looks better value, knowing about the shoulder.

knowledge 4th November 2004 11:21 PM

i tipped henman before finding about his injury.

Youzhny leads 7-5. Henman serving first in 2nd set.

Northerly 4th November 2004 11:24 PM

yep i saw the score, good start.

I gathered you changed after the found out the news.

knowledge 4th November 2004 11:26 PM

Youzhny just broke 1-0.

serving... surely he can't lose now.

Northerly 4th November 2004 11:30 PM

don't say that, could jinx us.
but is great news.

When I click on the LIVe button I get this white box with a red cross in it and it doesn't show the scores. Does anyone know what setting I have on that has stopped this working.

Northerly 4th November 2004 11:36 PM

3-0

Northerly 4th November 2004 11:54 PM

well done knowledge, was happy to be aboard.
also a mention to stats

How do you guys go picking winners on the atp tour? Do you know any forums around for tennis that are pretty much on the ball when it comes to backing a winner from the 1.85/1.85 matches etc?

Cheers

thebookie 5th November 2004 04:53 PM

I would say it's a very difficult sport to win on unless you see a lot of the ATP or circuit matches or have some inside info.

Information flow re injuries etc is very poor otherwise.

It is notorious for rorts.

Nice one!

Thanks Sparky!

Have been into horseracing a while now and showing nice profits at the moment, However after the carnival my % usually declines dramatically so this year i want to look at sport betting. It seems to me the best way to go about it is to focus on one sport and tennis has attracted my attention. It is one of few sports that are played all year round with betting agencies covering numerous head to head events. It also looks one of the easier sports to pick a winner in and even if a lot of selections are at short odds you can bet with confidence in alot of matches. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on tennis betting and any sites offering legitimate info, results injuries etc would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Ed.

Mr J 9th November 2004 11:26 PM

Yep, tennis capping is ALOT of work. Golf and tennis would be the sports that require the most effort overall.

Plenty of opportunities and books release varying lines (means market is inefficient).

Mr ed 13th November 2004 11:10 PM

Just wondering Mr J. you sound like a cluey chap what sports do you think offer the best opportunities to make a consistant profit in?

Mr J 14th November 2004 05:23 AM

Any sport you have the ability to profit in

Sport markets that are less efficient would be easier though. Tennis & golf simply because of the size of the fields. Those 2 sports would obviously take a huge amount of work though.

Aussie sports are generally decent. Less efficient than the major US sports.

US college sports.

Don't know anything about greyhounds but I think it'd be easier to beat than the horses.

Start off with a sport you know prett well though.

Mr ed 14th November 2004 10:12 AM

Cheers.
