We seem to have similiar tips, sportz, and i was also very nearly tempted to put in Omega carter and Sanguine Kid as well!! I hadn't even seen your post!

Chuck 9th December 2004 12:41 PM

Do you base any of your selection on the tips at racetab.com.au? all of yours are the 1st selection in that race! Or maybe its just that great minds think alike!

sportznut 9th December 2004 12:58 PM

I do look at the selections, but no, it's just the way it turned out. Actually, Paul Dolan tipped no.1 to beat Malfoy I think.

Chuck 9th December 2004 01:01 PM

yeah your right...i still think Malfoy will be a class above them though...

Chuck 9th December 2004 01:08 PM

oops, i accidently put a trot race in there...get rid of the penrith race and put $20 on traction control and $20 on Freefall

sportznut 9th December 2004 01:14 PM

In future, I'd prefer it if you concentrated only on the NIGHT Greyhounds Chuck, so no day meetings like Geelong please.

Dugga11 9th December 2004 01:40 PM

BG 4 No 3 - Kellys Spirit $10
BG 5 No 3 - Foreign Legion $20
BG 7 No 1 - Lukeamy $20
BG 9 No 6 - Narra Boy $10
AG 8 No 3 - Kayla Dakota $10
MG 10 No 2 - Coulta Ash $10

All up $20 - BG 8 No 2 Bogie Leigh / BG 10 6 Hanson Teddy

Beginners luck last week? I guess we'll see......

Whats your best bet of the night sportznut?

sportznut 9th December 2004 01:50 PM

Pristine Litenin, but I won't get any medals for picking that. It'll probably pay $1.20 or $1.30. I think your picks will be much better odds than most of mine.

Dugga11 9th December 2004 02:44 PM

Yeah well thats the best bet of the year.......
If you have $100,000 to whack on it..... ;)
Which Venue do you follow the closest?

sportznut 9th December 2004 04:04 PM

Dugga,

I'm just a learner. I've only really been looking closely at the Greyhounds for about a month now. Never used to pay much attention to them before that. I'm finding it quite interesting. So far, I guess I'm concentrating on Sandown the most.

moeee 9th December 2004 04:36 PM

Can I say,Sportznut, without looking at the formguide, you may very well miss out on winning the comp, but still back 7 out of 8 again!

Cheers - Cheeky Mo.

sportznut 9th December 2004 04:42 PM

Yeah Mo, I guess I'll wait till I have a bit more experience with dog racing before I get the guts to be more daring with my tips. :)

moeee 9th December 2004 04:47 PM

Not that I have won many tipping comps, but I have had a look at the stats, and more winners does not point you towards the top of the tree.
Plenty of winners will get you more respect than the punter who flukes a roughie,in my eyes anyway, but the occasional 33-1 short is what takes home the bacon in a competition.
Still remember TheFan mistipping the wrong number in the wrong race and belting everyone that time.

sportznut 10th December 2004 08:02 AM

Yep. Not bad odds either considering. Same with Pristine Litenin. I thought $1.50 was pretty good there.

Dugga11 10th December 2004 09:38 AM

yeah that was the easiest money ive ever made.....

moeee 11th December 2004 12:04 PM

Congratulations Sportznut.
And here is some knowledge I have acquired from personal experience.

You appear to have an appropriate amount of knowledge right now to pick winners in a proffitable way.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LEARN ANY MORE!

I have found that knowing too much is almost as bad as knowing too little.

sportznut 11th December 2004 01:24 PM

Thanks a lot Mo. Could have done even better if I had stuck to my best 4 picks. They all won. The other 4 lost.

moeee 11th December 2004 02:12 PM

Well here is some more wisdom for you!
Get a pen and paper and write down your last post 10 times.
Not as a punishment, but to drum it into your head to do it next Thursday!

sportznut 11th December 2004 04:18 PM

Sure thing Mo. :)
