Too many tipping comps
I'm sure many will disagree with me, but i think we are having way too many tipping comps. the group 1 comp is okay but i think one every month is just overstepping a bit. If you'll remember back to when we used to just have a seasonly tipping comp that went on for weeks, and you could only have $10 win best or a $20 special, i think that was the way to go. I still go in these current comps, because i'm very competitive and can't help myself, but i think adding trifectas and such is just too far.
Chuck But in case your wondering, i do think the sport tipping comps are a good idea |
Sorry Chuck. I find them interesting.
Anyway, we'll keep the regular tipping comp going for February, but if others feel the same way as you, then we'll give it a miss after that. |
Im keen all year sportz. I think the way the comp is set up is great, it adds a bit of extra fun to a saturday. I bet all year round so why not!! Just my opinion.
|
Disagree Chuck, it is your choice how many comps you have a go at.
|
I agree with Kiwi...i have chosen not to enter as many comps i liked the G1 comp as it is only a max of 2 horse and depends on the races of the day....the ratings test is ok because i like ratings....but thats it for now
|
Yeah, it's up to people what they have a go at. Don't think I'll be having a go at the Lay of the day, because that's just not my style. The Ratings Challenge is a new idea and I think it's really interesting.

Sportz,
I'm with you I like the new Ratings comp. because it is interesting to me to know what people are thinking on a race. I actually would like to see people put some comments on there ratings. Horse racing is definitely one where you get plenty of opinions and where two people can look at the same form and come to two opposing conclusions. |
Now that an interesting idea for a comp.....pick one horse for the day and explain why it would be your choice for a winner....no ratings or fancy systems...just real form study

That's why I like people to put their rated prices next to their 5 horses, even though it's not strictly essential for the comp. |
New Comp!
I have an idea for a new comp!!! What if we cross reference and cross tabulate the scores from all the other comps, combine them with a new comp where we tip on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, then tip on selected harness, greyhond, pitbull and ******** fighting events, give weighted scores for the various outcomes, get Woof43 to calculate the standard deviation, divide it by your phone number and the highest score wins!!!!
Any takers? |

funniest post i've read in ages....but i do agree with you Sportz...you do a great job with the comps and its up to the individual who enters...its not taking up that much room so keep up the good work.. |
Duritz,
You are a sarcastic funny **************, keep up the good work. |
then times your total by the best price you get on laying Cool Trent on betfair
|
lol yeah very glad it got beat. Not knocking the horse, but.... well actually yeah I guess I am knocking him. He was just terribly weighted in both those races (ie the one the other day and the one he was scratched from that he would've lost too...), going from 52 or 53 or something up to 58 with ZERO possibility of improvement. BEST lays those, especially when they've won a couple in a row or are even just last start winners.
