My God.

The greatest certainty I have ever seen. Bar none.

maverick1993 4th March 2005 09:45 PM

i'm having $10 on Hugs Dancer....i'm alittle crazy i know..but hey if its dry...and its run at a good pace ..who knows :)

Duritz 4th March 2005 10:11 PM

Even if Hugs went to it's best, like that day when it ran down Elvstroem, it wouldn't beat Grand Armee tomorrow.

I know it'll be 1.20 - 1.30 at best, however it is such a moral. I won't back it, but will enjoy watching a class horse (and an underestimated one) thrash a mediocre field.

maverick1993 4th March 2005 10:28 PM

short priced favs in small fields...always a worry...

Duritz 4th March 2005 11:49 PM

I predict they'll negate that by doing what they did in the Mackinnon - lead in a good pace. If they do that, it'll win by 6 in this too.

Raw Instinct 5th March 2005 07:14 AM

Voucray is the only horse that can knock off Grand Armee she doesn't need alot of racing to get fit she doesn't seem to carry alot of weight anyway.

purpleheart68 5th March 2005 10:58 AM

Will be interesting to see who leads in this race.Grand Armee does look a morale on paper, but how many favs get rolled in small fields? The records are on this forum for all to see.Interesting that Grand Armee has only won once over this distance and has ran2nd 5 times, albeit in much better company than this.I had a good win on him last start@$1.80,but today I am just going to have an interest bet on Natural Blitz to knock him off.Vouvray is good, but dont think she can beat the males at this stage. She is my long range tip for the Caulfield Cup this year,so I will be following her progress with a great deal of interest.

Mr ed 5th March 2005 11:18 AM

Grand Armee really should lead can't see anything else challenging for it, GA has won twice over 2000, QE and Mackinnin both by huge margins he should win but too short.

maverick1993 5th March 2005 05:26 PM

nice waste of $10....to strong to classy...and left alone in front....vouvray and hug still on track for the cups...

mecurial 5th March 2005 06:31 PM

Is it looking likely that Grand Armee will meet Elvstroem? And even if it does happen will Elvis be good enough?

Mr ed 6th March 2005 05:27 AM

Very Unlikely, GA will be set for the BMW now, whereas Elvis' last race in Oz will be the Ozzie Cup, would be a great race though Elvis, Makybe, and GA.

Maverick,

I don't know about "left alone in front". They ran 2.00.9 on a dead and GA did the work. If they took him on he would have won by 30 lengths.

Not a case of left alone but a case of "he was going too fast all the way".

maverick1993 7th March 2005 09:44 PM

he probably would have won by 30 lengths...but wouldve liked to see someone atleast try and pressure him...The Trainer of Vouvray was quoted as saying he would be doing exactly that....
pressure can do some weird and wonderful things..

anchor 8th March 2005 04:03 AM

Could he now become a mini Might and Power? Straight to the lead in the BMW and setting a solid pace would break rivals' hearts. On a day where times were slow his was outstanding.
