Reported that Snitzel's owner Damion Flower has knocked back an offer of $6M for the horse. The $6M offer was made by overseas buyers who wanted to buy 100 percent of the horse before the Slipper. Apparently Damion has stated that as he wanted to retain an interest in Snitzel it's no sale at the moment.

Damion, I'd be taking the offer, I think you will finish well in front (imo)!

Paddy do you know if there was a reason for Stratum drifting back out to $13.00? Or just a regular market movement? Hope so I think Stratum is a genuine chance

The top four all have projected ratings of 69, so it was up to barriers & jockeys to split them. Mnemosyne rates 65 so is a little off them.

I'm gambling a little bit as i decided to lay Fashions Afield. I can come up with reasons why it was lucky in both its last 2 wins. I doubt it will beat Mnemosyne home here.

I can get $16 about Domesday on sportsbet, do you think this will firm because i am thinking of locking it in tommorow?

even though i rate it high, i don't think you will get lower than $16. Both Tidy & Read have it currently at $21.00 even allowing for it's good draw.

There is rain forecast in Sydney, so if you want too weight for race day, i believe you will still get $16+.

Are you aware of the downpour we are in over here Sandgroper? I assume you are. To the more experienced punters out there (me not being one of them) what do you think of Stratum's chances if the track is slow/heavy? Considering it runs fairly late in the program...

Hope the rain keeps falling,Stratum won a trial at newcastle a few months back on a wet track and swam through it, will take a postition and finish strongly, paul perry says its his best chance of winning the slipper,[ choisir had feet problems and fastnet rock was always going to be a better as a 3 year old].

Correct me if I am wrong (melburnian) but sydney is getting a fair bit of rain. This changes things exponentially. No longer will the horses drawn inside get such an advantage. The middle to outer part of the track is where to be which means horses like Snitzel and mnemosyne drawn 12 and 10 respectively may be abble the post themselves 3 or 4 back with cover. Mnemosyne is by Encosta de Lago and should handle the wet well.

Allready have Snitzle for a stack and still haven't changed my mind on him,,
all this talk about Stratum is bewildering to me considering he couldnt get close to snitzel...I give him a couple of lengths because of the barrier..maybe even 2 lengths for the wet track,,he's still 2 lengths off Snitzel..

1, Snitzel
2, Mnemosyne.... is the one i fear ..
3, Written tycoon ...will be there as well has the strength to bustle
through the pack and find a position....
4, Media ...will be running on but the jockey's a toss.

I did like Al samer but think he wont handle the wet...same with Opportunity..

i think Siednazar could grab a place at odds..

Hard race as usual..but will wait till i see how the track is playing before i load up on exotics
