Starcraft in Cox Plate?

Does anyone know if he's still in the field? Or what his plans are? He had 2 races schedueled in England, then I saw he was in te Cox Plate market which would overlap.

They decided some time ago he was staying in Europe. Pretty sure he's not even entered for it. What bookie's odds are you looking at???

There were the odds posted in the Brisbane newspaper The Courier Mail about a month or so ago. I didn't read it for a few weeks, so only found out a week ago. I'll see if I cut it out and let you know.

Recently won a Group 1 in France. Entered for the King George and Queen Elizabeth stakes now in England - Newmarket??? or Ascot can't remember. There was a rumour of the Breeders Cup but the late entry fee, reported to be $400K has put the Kibosh on that idea. That's my mail c/o Racing Retro last night.

Well, if it's from that long ago, don't worry. With big races like that, the odds change regularly and quickly. I can safely say he's not coming, because he's nowhere to be seen in the latest odds, and he's not in the nominations for the race.

So he's in FRANCE???

What the hell is going on? I'd noticed he didn't race at an appointment in England but thought nothing of it.

Didn't you know he'd won a group 1 in France last week???

From AAP RacingAndSports:

Monday, 5 September 2005: Australia is again high on the international map following the breakthrough European Group One win by Starcraft in France on Sunday.

The multiple Australasian Group One winner rebounded from injury to win the G1 Prix du Moulin at his third start for top UK trainer Luca Cumani.

Starcraft repaid the faith of trainer Luca Cumani and owner Paul Makin as the five-year- was found to have suffered a stress fracture of his pelvis after a disappointing effort in the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown.

Makin toyed with retiring Starcraft but Cumani was adamant the stallion could recover and prove himself against Europe's best.

Ridden by French jockey Christophe Lemaire, Starcraft led from soon after the start and always had the race in control to beat a high class field of Group One stars including Valixir and Whipper.

Whipper and Valixir found nothing under pressure and it was left to the fast-finishing Gorella to claim second with Majors Cast finishing third.

Stracraft had finished third behind Valixir when making his UK debut for Cumani in the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot at York before his Sandown failure.

Cumani is excited about Starcraft's future prospects in Europe and America.

"He is a very impressive horse," Cumani reported.

"He is a horse that I always knew had it in him.

"He is very powerful and the plan was to make the running if no-one else was ready to do so.

"He was given a great ride and the strategy was to keep him running and running."

Cumani outlined a big program for Starcraft with the AJC Derby winner to have his next start in the G1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Newmarket later this month.

That race will determine if he stays in the UK for the Newmarket Champion Stakes or heads to the US for the Breeders' Cup Mile at Belmont in New York.

Just found out about it. Now I'm just upset I followed this horse for the last 2 years and missed his bi-annual win. Now he's tossing up America / England / Australia. I'm sure I'll find out once I've missed it. Grrrrrrr!
