Goodbye to a great champion. I only wish he had announced it before the last game of the season, so the crowd could have given him a proper sendoff.

If I was to watch one (maybe two) games of Michael Voss at his best, what would they be?

Someone said the 2003 GF, which I did watch, although polaxed by half time (yes I am a Pies man), but still, not sure that was shuch a "great" game....

I'm curious, as I really don't think I saw him at his best...... :o I remember, Buckley, Carey, Kernahan, Willams, Hird, Dunstall, Ablett, yatta yatta, but I can't recall Voss in my memories as having played a standout game/s (not his fault and NOT saying anything against him, simply and purely I clearly didn't watch enough Lions games or the wrong ones).... I know he played well in a games I saw but not (from recall) standout games..... so thought I'd buy a "Name the Game" DVD and have a look.

You've got to be kidding, there are too many games to mention that voss won for brisbane off his own boot, an absolute champion that does "no fear" acts to lift his team. I could say they same about a few others there you mentioned. Off the top of my head I remember buckley starring in a losing grand final (lol), but what good has that done. Carey, kernahan, hird were champions in a champion team like voss, and to say voss didnt reach his best is a HUGE call.
My two bobs worth anyway...

Voss should have won the Norm Smith medal in that GF where Buckley won it. He basically lifted the team over the line on his own in that game. But as a Brisbane fan, I'd much rather take the premiership thanks. And I'm sure he felt the same. ;)

"and to say voss didnt reach his best is a HUGE call."..... not what I said at all.

What I said was yes he is a champion, I am not casting any dispursions on his ability.... simply after a game where I can watch him at his best, as I clearly have memory issues :o
