"Quotes"

Am I the only follower of this forum who is getting tired of the over-use of quotes?

Have just come back from a couple of days away, and, in catching up, was dismayed at the number of times whole postings were re-quoted for no advantage that I could see. It is only a matter of a small movement of the mouse wheel to check back on something that has been referred to. Instead there are often twenty or thirty (or more) lines quoted with only one line or a few words of commentary. Tedious to say the least.

Surely the idea of the "quote" facility is to highlight some aspect or other that you may wish to comment on --- not just to repeat the whole posting!

I agree totally. I'm also tired of the unnecessary use of the quote button.

I'll third that without the quote.
